Due to negligence code pulls more data from DB leading to inefficient data transfer overhead. This inefficiency becomes pronounced when applications fetch entire datasets even when only specific subsets of data are required. This not only consumes unnecessary bandwidth but also results in slower data transfer times, impacting overall system performance and responsiveness. To overcome this problem Implement a data optimization strategy that selectively fetches and transfers only the required data minimizes overhead, enhances data transfer efficiency #CodeOptimizationStrategies #DataProcessingOptimization #AlgorithmEfficiency #SoftwareDeveloper #BackendDeveloper #FrontendDeveloper #AppDeveloper #TechAtSpeckyFox

How can you screw up with feature flags? Like most tools, feature flags can get messy and overcomplicated if they aren’t managed properly. e.g. - Naming feature flags inconsistently, or making the names incomprehensible - Not cleaning up old flags or considering their lifecycle (there are tools for this) - Creating feature flags that are obscure and have no descriptions, so it's not immediately obvious what they do - Providing business logic in a feature flag. Say, in complex rules that your code evaluates, state machines, references to other flags or other outside dependencies, or (erk) scripts, database queries or other code ^ This is a HUGE red flag that should prompt anyone to take a step back and rethink their life choices (Next post: how to use flags without running into things like the above)

Senior Software Developer | ASP.NET Core MVC | C# | Entity Framework Core | SQL | PostgreSQL | Vue.js | Agile | Scrum | git
🚀 Exciting times with Entity Framework Core's Global Query Filters! 🌐🔍 This feature adds a whole new layer of control to data retrieval, allowing me to define filters globally for entities. // Define a global query filter for soft-deleted items modelBuilder.Entity<Product>().HasQueryFilter(p => !p.IsDeleted); 💡 Global Query Filters enable me to enforce conditions across queries, making it a breeze to implement common scenarios like soft-deletes or multi-tenancy. It's like having a consistent security layer at the database level! 🛡️💻 🌐 This feature not only enhances data security but also simplifies development by ensuring data consistency throughout the application.

What are some companies that you know that do something outside the usual CRUD APIs with frontend? I know there's databases, and some data engineering and data analytics stuff that's not the usual CRUD. What else is out there? Enlighten me! :D

Originally posted on Twitter/X: https://lnkd.in/gREgHf3a starbeam.one Daily Status - I took a bit of a breather yesterday but still got a good chunk of the data migration story done for the process model. As mentioned yesterday we have 22 processes and they all need to get migrated over to help with performance (queries in particular). This is all SQL territory for me which historically has been a sore spot for me but I have been warming up to it as of late. 😇 It turns out SQL itself is really great it's the tooling around it which has always been a chore to endure. In this case, I am using EntityFramework Core instructions to blit (yes, a word!) data from one table to another. There are 22 more of these instructions and this story will be ready to test. I am aiming to get as many of these done today as possible. #StarbeamOne #sb1 #DailyDeveloper #Startup #Status #azure #blazor #csharp #dotnet #buildinpublic #buildinginpublic

I do have to say that creating in my side project a DB system I'm learning interesting things. For instance, why DBs like sqlLite and others don't support scalar lists and how to overcome this. So, open-sourcing my test DB schema... although the DBML file seems to not connect a couple of fields, not sure why as the references are OK. And yes this is just the graph, the actual models and migrations are on GitHub. If you wish to know more about it, you can check my previous posts 🙂 It's some progress. I united now the real DB models with the hardcoded test data schema. Next step, fetching the data and magically mix it up so it can make sense on the UI. #buildinpublic

A new dataframe software called Peaks is emerging from the east which is designing to deal with trillions of rows for different combination of query commands. Today, two more commands, “Select Column” and “Add Column,” were migrated to the new Peaks. Tomorrow, JoinTable and OrderBy will be migrated. However, it is unclear why some people refer to the Add Column command as a Window Function. Next week, the Go version of the new Peaks may be cloned to Python-Rust using the very smart “Bing Chat.” I have tested it before and it works very well. Python-Rust version named as Peakrs https://lnkd.in/gDJ5YA7t df = get_csv_partition_address(file_path, config) for processed_partition < partition_count: df = read_csv(partition_batch, df, file_path) df = filter(df, "Shop(S20..S50)Product(500..800)") df = add_column(df, "quantity, unit_price, exchange_rate => multiply(New_Base_Amount)") df = Add_Column(df, "Base_Amount, New_Base_Amount => subtract(Variance)") df = Select_Column(df, "quantity, unit_price, exchange_rate, Base_Amount, New_Base_Amount, Variance") Append_CSV(df, file_path) #softwaredevelopment #etl #dataframe #bing

🍺😄 Cheers to all developers out there! Two types walked into a bar, one was safe and the other dynamic. The safe type ordered a carefully measured drink, while the dynamic type tried to drink everything on tap and ended up causing quite a runtime error! Speaking of types, have you explored the incredible power of celin.ais.pwsh.types? 🚀 Our latest document link will take you on a journey of seamless data saving and restoring to JSON format using celin.ais.pwsh.types. Visit the link now and unlock the true potential of celin.ais.pwsh.types in your data management workflows. Its increasingly clear that the ability for run-time users to easily import data into their Grids, Tables and Blotters is a key requirement. As evidenced by the very positive reviews we are receiving from our users for the new Data Import functionality in AdapTable - our powerful AG Grid extension. The attached video runs through some of the features in Data Import showing how users can leverage the Data Import wizard to: 1. Update existing rows with new cell values 2. Add new rows to the Grid 3. Provide Column Matching between the Import File (JSON, CSV or text via copy & paste) and the grid's columns 4. Manage validation of the imported data to ensure it meets business rules and requirements. See more at: https://lnkd.in/dxQfEs3i Contact us at sales@adaptabletools.com to learn more about this and other features in AdapTable, to book a 1:1 demo or to request a free, no-obligation AdapTable Trial Licence https://lnkd.in/d8MG-my9 #bankingtechnology #fintechstartup #bankinginnovation #financialdata #data #financialinstitutions #blotter #developers #datagrids #fintech #banks #capitalmarkets #financialmarkets #bigdata #opensourcesoftware #fdc3 #aggrid #reactjs #reactjsdevelopment #reactjsdevelopers #angular #angularjs #angularjsdeveloper
