Mainstay Marine Solutions, in collaboration with Siemens Financial Services, will strengthen the current domestic shipbuilding market with the launch of a pioneering UK Built Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) solution starting from a cash price of £4.5m. The initiative capitalises on Mainstay’s shipbuilding expertise and the upcoming delivery of the industry-trusted Chartwell Marine Ltd Ambitious Class compliant design CTV. Charlotte Wood, Commercial Manager, commented "By opting for quality British craftsmanship, CTV operators can avoid the concealed costs often incurred with foreign yards [and] benefit from long-term reliability...we very much look forward to working with our partners to help meet the demands of the sector". Andrew Southwood commented: “Siemens Financial Services is able to provide market-leading marine finance solutions. We find it intriguing that while we have seen accelerating prices and strong volume in the secondhand sales market for PSVs, the AHTS market has been lagging here as well. Secondhand prices, and with it, asset valuations, for the former has seen a terrific boost during 2023, whereas the same trendlines for anchor handlers could again be described as less aggressive in comparison. We find it more than likely that the S&P market for AHTS will greatly improve during next year – of which we are firm believers that it will! #AHTS, #Shipbuilding , #Offshore

Introducing The Middle East’s First Electric Tug. SAFEEN, part of AD Ports Group, has signed an agreement for the lease and purchase of an all-electric Damen RSD-E Tug 2513, the first fully electric tug to operate in the Middle East. The new tug, which is just 25 m in length, but has a bollard pull of 70 tonnes, is capable of manoeuvring the largest vessels in service and can undertake two or more assignments before being recharged, which takes just two hours. The vessel is now on its way from Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam to Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, where it will be used to handle container ships, car carriers and other traffic.
