Nearly two-thirds of Americans consume mushrooms, counting fresh mushrooms bought in the produce department, mushrooms included in restaurant meals as well as mushrooms used as an ingredient in frozen pizzas or a jar of spaghetti sauce. The vast majority of mushrooms eating occasions, 80%, reflect usage as an addition, topping or ingredient to another base dish, such as pizza, a burger or salad. Consumers say that 95% of these occasions had mushrooms included in the original meal, whether bought in-store or at a restaurant, whereas 5% added mushrooms to the meal leftovers. Mushrooms have great versatility and add umami – a savory, meaty flavor – adding depth and richness to all kinds of dishes, ranging from soups and sauces to stir-fries and salads. I've noticed one interesting trend really take off in QSRs recently... The rise of sauces. People LOVE their sauces—in fact, recent data from Technomic’s Flavor Consumer Trend Report showed that 34% of consumers even consider available sauces when deciding on a restaurant. And QSRs are absolutely capitalizing on this. In just the past few months, we've seen: 🥣 Taco Bell's new "Avocado Verde" sauce for its Cantina Chicken menu. 🥣 Zaxby's new "Zaxtail Sauce" to complement their new Southern Fried Shrimp. 🥣 McDonald's new "Savory Chili WcDonald’s Sauce" to go along with their anime-inspired WcDonald’s campaign. And there are countless more! Customers want experimental, novel sauces nowadays. QSRs are delivering, and it's greatly increasing competition. #RestaurantTrends #QSRs #Restaurants

When it comes to building the perfect pizza, you need to start with a strong foundation. This means selecting a delicious and crispy pizza base, and pairing it with the right sauce. While a traditional tomato sauce is always a great choice, have you thought about trying something a little less conventional on your menu? Something we’re loving at the moment is seeing restaurants and pizza shops adapt soups and other non-pizza sauces for their pizza menu. This might be a fresh basil pesto or a light bechamel sauce. It could even be a thick pumpkin soup or a French onion-inspired sauce. The options are endless. So, what do you think? Would you give soup or a non-pizza sauce a try on your pizza menu? buvetti.com.au #buvetti #pizza #pizzashop #pizzashopowner #pizzabase #sauce #pizzasauce #tomato #bechamel #pumpkinsoup #frenchonion #restaurant #foodservice #foodserviceindustry #menuinnovation #pesto

If you’re looking for an easy yet impressive home cooked meal for date night, the answer is – and forever will – be steak. There’s just something about making steak at home that is so incredibly impressive. I love it when Mike makes me steak and I know that he’s equally happy when I make it for him. It just seems extra luxe to be making steak at home. It probably has something to do with the fact that steakhouses tend to be high end fancy affairs. But the secret to steak is: you can make it at home just as good or even better for a fraction of the cost. Once you’re done making your steak (I suggest reverse searing), all you need to take it over the top is the special sauce. These are our best steak sauce recipes: super easy steak sauces that have 6 ingredients or less and are easy to whip up while your steaks are reverse searing the oven. Never pay extra for sauce at a steakhouse again!

The Secret Behind Your Favorite Fast Food: It's All About the Sauce! Have you ever wondered what keeps you coming back to your favorite quick-service restaurant (QSR) or local takeaway spot? Is it the core product like chicken, beef, or fish? Perhaps the taste of the bun, tortillas, or noodles? While these elements are important, they're not the main attraction. The true flavor hero lies in the condiments – the sauces, dips, and marinades that elevate the dish. In Southeast Asia, where the heritage of fermented sauces and seasonings is rich, these condiments are key differentiators that turn a good meal into an unforgettable one. From tangy tamarind sauces to spicy chili pastes, these flavor enhancers bring depth, complexity, and uniqueness to every bite. So next time you're savoring your go-to fast food, take a moment to appreciate the sauce that makes it special. It's these secret ingredients that transform a simple meal into a culinary delight. What’s your favorite sauce that you can't live without? Share in the comments below! #FastFood #QSR #CulinaryDelight #SoutheastAsianCuisine #Foodie #FlavorEnhancer #Condiments

SELF-BAKED DÖNER BREAD (PITA) Compared to doner kebab meat, doner kebab bread is neglected. However, the quality of the doner kebab bread is at least as important as that of the meat. Large döner kebab restaurants and chains have their bread produced, frozen and stored in factories. In the restaurants, this bread is defrosted, toasted until crispy and served to the customer with tasty doner kebab meat, salads and sauces. That works well. However, you have to make sure that the quality features are present. Without going into the depths of the subject: A good doner kebab bread should be soft overall. The bread should be crispy on the outside. Most important, however, are the bubbles (pores) on the inside of the bread. If these bubbles are large, the bread is very good. If, on the other hand, the bubbles are very small, this is a sign that the bread is not so good. If you have a good bread baker, then you should be happy. Or you can bake the bread yourself in your own restaurant, in front of your customers. ADVANTAGES: • The customer sees the bread baker's craft. • The customer can see that the bread is freshly baked. • The restaurant smells wonderfully of fresh bread. • This bread no longer needs to be toasted, it comes fresh from the oven, hot and crispy. Many restaurants are now using it and customers are delighted. #döner #kebab #meat #bread #neglected #quality #important #restaurants #customers #advantages #bakerscarft #freshlybaked #smell #toast #pita #freshfromtheoven #bakeyourself #breadbaker #crispy #soft #bubbles #pores #salads #sauces #tasty #factories
