It Started With a Lock This May, we’re spotlighting the locks that have become as synonymous with Mulberry as our iconic bags themselves. In a series of stills shot by celebrated photographer Esther Theaker and styled by Isabelle Sayer, three models (Celina Ralph, Guinevere van Seenus, and Ajok Daing) are captured sporting modern classics – including our latest icons the Lana and the Pimlico – and juxtaposed with closely cropped images of each bags’ hardware. These locks act as symbols of Mulberry’s evolution: dynamic and bold, but with a quintessential and inimitable Britishness. Much like Britain, over the years our hardware has evolved – referenced, refreshed, reimagined – but the hallmarks have remained the same: secure, classic, and made to last. The original 'Queen Anne' silver plated table lighter by Ronson from the 1970s. This has been well kept, is in very good condition, requiring a new flint and wick. As with all vintage lighters the seal should be checked before use. A high quality item for collectors of period tobacciana, or an off the wall present for someone who still enjoys the occasional smoke. NB: The lighter is silver in colour. Any green in the photographs is a reflection of the baize background. Dimensions: 8x6.5x4cm (3.5x2x2.5ins) wt. 700g https://lnkd.in/ePvz-39u

In my opinion, the most important aspects of the visual component of hanging are cleanliness and completeness. When colors on the trading floor create harmony and envelop the space, it enhances the overall effect. I enjoy transitions through prints and the combination of 2-3 colors in the hanging. #RomanGlassPortraits The Romans developed a remarkable technique for crafting gold "sandwich" pendants and bowls. In this method, a glass-blower applied gold leaf to the outer surface of a molten glass bubble. The glass could be either colorless or tinted in shades of blue, green, red, or purple. A fine needlepoint was employed to scratch and stipple the gold leaf to create intricate portraits and decorations. Subsequently, the glass-blower would press a second bubble of transparent molten glass against the first, effectively encapsulating the adorned gold leaf between thin layers of glass, forming the characteristic "sandwich." Portrait medallions, produced using this technique, were occasionally designed as ornamental pendants for personal adornment. However, most were affixed to the base of bowls and dishes, serving as commemorative pieces for special events or wedding gifts. As time passed, these portrait disks were carefully removed from the dishes and repurposed as grave markers, akin to the framed photographs frequently found in modern Roman Catholic cemeteries.

The photograph combines artistic lighting and composition to evoke a sense of elegance and calm. The photograph depicts a woman lying on the floor, illuminated dramatically by beams of light that create a visually striking pattern around her. The perspective is from above, capturing her entire figure in a horizontal position. She is dressed in a richly embellished traditional outfit, suggesting a festive or ceremonial occasion. Lighting: The light source creates strong lines and shadows, focusing attention on the subject while adding depth and texture to the scene. Pose: The woman is lying on her back with her arms positioned thoughtfully, contributing to a serene and contemplative mood. Setting: The floor and surrounding space are minimalistic, ensuring the subject remains the focal point of the image.

Creating the perfect gallery wall doesn't have to be a headache. Make it easy with these tips from Jamie Young Co.! 🖼 Choose a Theme: The simplest way to create a cohesive art collection? Stick to a single motif or color palette - like coastal-inspired or neutral pieces. 🖼 Incorporate Lighting - Make your gallery wall shine by mixing in sconces that double as art. 🖼 Think Outside the Grid - You can really get creative with round artwork - try overlapping your pieces or hanging them in a non-linear way.
