Current focus is upon Kudos Miracles Housing, a revolutionary move away from the old ‘housing ladder’ model and move to a more accessible route, truly enabling the cessation of global homelessness, making home ownership possible for all, in a model we prefer to term as the ‘housing escalator’. We hear it often - start with why. However, we can't just start with it. We have to carry it with us in every conversation along the way. Otherwise, we risk the chance we will sightly 'bend' to accept that donation, to partner with that organization that doesn't quite align with us, or to say yes to the things that seem promising only to realize we have confused our passion - what feels good in the moment - with our purpose - what is at the core of why we are doing anything in the first place. It's so to get off track and not stand on the foundational purpose of our work or our calling. Next week, I will be speaking at the CLA Outcomes Conference on not only 'starting with why' from an organization's perspective, but also understanding the 'why not' of your potential donor and how your purpose is a key part (but not the only part) of the equation to reach the purpose of your audience. As we get ready to bid farewell to 2023 and welcome in the new year, let's remember the importance of celebrating in a safe and considerate way. Here are some essential tips to ensure a safe, considerate start to 2024; 🚗Plan ahead: Arrange for safe transportation to and from your celebrations with a designated driver, taxi booking etc. 🎉Celebrate responsibly: If hosting a gathering, be considerate of your neighbours and manage noise levels to avoid disturbances. Consider informing your neighbours if you are planning on celebrating at home so they are aware prior to any louder than usual activity. Keep noise levels in check, especially later into the night to respect those around you. 🎆Fireworks: Refrain from using fireworks at home, instead visit a designated display or watch the show over London on the telly! 🗑️Respect communal spaces: After the celebrations, make sure that rubbish and litter are disposed of and that communal areas are tidy Let's start 2024 on the right foot, looking out for one another and our community.
