America doesn’t run on Dunkin’. It runs on the goods, services and people transported by trucks and buses. In fact, look around you. Everything in your room right now has been on a #truck at some point.   Yet while medium- and heavy-duty trucks represent only 10% of vehicles on the road, a January 2024 report from CALSTART shows almost 30% of all transportation-related GHG #emissions, 45% of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, and more than half of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions.   This is both a disproportionate problem, and opportunity. #Electrifying trucks would not only help beat back the worst impacts of #climatechange, but it would take major steps to reduce the harmful health impacts of #pollution.   Welcome to the first issue of Breathe Easy, our LinkedIn feature article. Check out the incredible progress they've made in their 2023 Sustainability Report - below are a few highlights: Delivering for the planet ⚡ Achieved an 11 per cent reduction in absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions (2020 baseline), with the goal of reducing by 42 per cent by 2030. ⚡ 80 new EV trucks deployed on-road across three pilot terminals ⚡ ~5,500 tonnes of CO2e reduction from ground transportation and ~1,300 tonnes of CO2e reduction from air transportation Empowering its people ⚡ Achieved a 48 per cent reduction in lost-time injury frequency, surpassing goal of 40 per cent (2019 baseline). ⚡ Delivered 18,400 hours of mental health training for employees across the company.
