Observed on June 19 every year, #Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom from oppression is both a cause worthy of celebration and an ongoing struggle to fully achieve. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved individuals in the United States. I hope one day soon, we can celebrate the freedom of those enslaved today in human trafficking since the number of slaves today is much higher than ever in history. #FreedomDay #Juneteenth2024

Juneteenth: A Continued Journey Towards Liberation! On this Juneteenth, we pause to reflect on the resilience and courage of those who fought for freedom from slavery. Their struggle was a catalyst for progress, yet our work continues in dismantling systemic barriers and creating an equitable society for all. At Lydia Sierra Consulting, we recommit ourselves to uplifting marginalized voices and advancing racial justice through our grant consulting services. We stand in solidarity with the movement, fueling transformative change. While Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, it also serves as a powerful reminder that true emancipation is an ongoing journey, and we invite you to join us in honoring the legacy of Juneteenth and continuing the work towards collective liberation. #Juneteenth #RacialJustice #GrantsForChange #EquityInAction

Today is Juneteenth Day. Juneteenth Day, also known as Emancipation Day, is to commemorate the day enslaved people in Texas, learned of the Emancipation Proclamation, 2.5 years after the change in legal status of 3.5 million African Americans from enslaved to free. However, we have work to do to ensure reparations, justice, and true freedom is achieved. Here are some activities you and your organization can do to help: ❤️Donate to organizations centered around racial equity and justice ❤️Support Black-owned businesses ❤️Educate yourself on the history of Juneteenth, of colonialism, slavery, systems of oppression ❤️Introspect on your role and how you can take steps towards reparations ❤️Take action by boosting social media posts you resonate with, sharing your learnings with loved ones, or by joining a civil rights advocacy organization Please also see this guide, co-developed by ALA and Chezie in 2022, for more resources and suggestions for your orgs: https://lnkd.in/gkNAnY2D #Juneteenth #emancipationday #black #blackandasian #solidarity Design: @bogrodstd

*BC-C Minority Christians' Eagerness to Preserve the Self-Respect Struggle of Christians* Justice done to a community in minority quota is not done to us BCC minority Christians Justice done to SCs is not done to BC-C Christians Justice done to other castes in BCs is not done to BC-C minority Christians. The justice that is being done to the upper castes is not being done to the BC-C minority Christians. For the last seventy years, we have remained a vote bank where social justice has not been done. Justice is being done to everyone around us, but we still have to wait for justice. People who don't do justice to us are coming to our churches and asking for our vote. Why don't we question people who don't do social justice to us? It is only when questioned that our social class is recognized and justice is given to us. S Jayakant was a Christian minority rights activist.

Juneteenth has become the most well-known celebration for the ending of slavery in the United States. In fact, it is viewed by some as America’s second Independence Day. The history of this important celebration is complex and often misunderstood. #Juneteenth isn’t a straightforward story of emancipation, nor did it necessarily improve conditions in short order, or across the country. Freedom was not a straight line from the Emancipation Proclamation to Juneteenth to the Civil Rights movement. In fact, there's around 100 yrs between the Revolutionary War, Juneteenth, and MLK. Individuals had to fight for every piece of freedom they experienced and the struggle for justice that started long before the war did not end with emancipation. Today, we celebrate #freedom, #perseverance, and the value of people. May we each recogize where injustice exists and champion the oppressed.
