As we gear up to celebrate America's independence, let's remember to keep safety at the forefront, especially when handling fireworks and other festivities. According to the https://lnkd.in/gBnwdt7v 2022 Annual Fireworks Report there were 10,200 people treated in the ER for fireworks related injuries, of which 29% were hand related. Here are a few tips to ensure a fun and safe holiday for everyone: • Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks, including sparklers. • Make sure fireworks are legal in your area before buying or using them. • Keep a fire extinguisher, bucket of water, or a garden hose handy in case of fire or other mishap. • Light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly. • Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that have not ignited fully. • Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Here are some tips to keep your home and loved ones safe: 1️ - If fireworks are legal in your area, follow all safety guidelines, and never use them near homes or flammable materials. 2 - Ensure your grill is placed a safe distance away from your house, deck, or other structures. 3 - Before the celebrations begin, make sure your smoke detectors are working properly. Replace batteries if needed and have a fire extinguisher readily available. Celebrate Independence Day responsibly and enjoy a fantastic, fire-free July 4th!
