Welcome to Connecting the Dots in the great state of Georgia. It's Montina here and we are going to go back over these Savannah RFP for youth training and career development services. I'm so intrigued by this one. So I like to look in the Georgia procurement every single day. Just hop on in there, look at the start date and see what was posted. So this is where I'm looking. Let's look at this RFP again for the youth training career development now when I'm going through. Because again I sent this to someone, they have $1,000,000 budget, the funding source funded up to $1,033,383. This is also something to keep in mind. It is a reimbursement, it is a cost reimbursement. So be very clear about this. You are going to pay for the services rendered, you'll get reimbursed. So you will need to have some cash to participate in this request for proposal to participate in this program. So there are different program. Elements. There is a lot to it, but look at it here. Something very clear that they have on page 6. They're seeking responses for the following RFP's. But you can apply for all three, or just one. No preference or penalty will apply to those who've been in just one of the categories. There is a sole point of contact the purchasing specialist. And then I would suggest that you read through this OK. During this proposal evaluation process, the individual identified above as the sole contact point for any inquiries. Any violation of this procedure may be grounds for disqualification. So that means if you like, Ohh I know a commissioner, Ohh I know a council member, Ohh I know the Mayor, Ohh I know don't ask them anything about this contract. You cannot do that because it can disqualify you from this contract talks about the service areas and again, information the workforce. Or now here's something. Here's a quick tip. Say you say one man, I could do this, but I don't know that I could do it way in Savannah, Chatham County. I live in Fulton County. Well, why can't you live, friends, repeat and propose this to your workforce board and your accounting? OK, it's, it's competitive here. So if you have a workforce Development Board or not, again, this is about being creative, OK? These are things that you can do. If you see a problem and you want to solve it, why not? OK. So again, different information here, structures there again is a lot of information has committees here. So if you don't know about this board, you might want to look up the board, the workforce Development Board and look at their local plan and all their information. So that's why I do these videos because it's not as easy as everyone makes it seem. Oh my God, it's just all these contracts, there are contracts, there are opportunities, but there is work that's provided to also get them. There's work to bid on them and there's work to be done once you have them because you want to. Get paid on them as well. Alright, so if you have questions, let me know. Come up to the meetings. Actually, even on LinkedIn, I don't answer them, just come to the meetings. I do a quick 30 minutes every single week to help you connect the dots in the great state of Georgia. I see you in the next video.

Congratulations to the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges on 40 years of the Job Skills Program.
In our opinion, the Job Skills Program (JSP) is vital to Washington’s economic development. Its flexibility enables Impact Washington - NIST MEP to partner with local colleges and help manufacturers get the specific short-term workforce training needed to keep and grow jobs and manufacturing firms in our state.
Here are some quick facts from the 2021-2023 Progress Report about how this program has supported the manufacturing sector:
✓ 81 grants given to manufacturing companies, representing 74% of all grants
✓ 65 grants given to Impact Washington Clients, representing 60% of all grants
✓ Supported industries include Aerospace, Composites, Wood/Paper products, Naval/Marine, Food Production and Processing, and more
✓ 4,464 manufacturing employees trained

This week, we celebrate 40 years of Washington’s Job Skills Program.
In establishing the Job Skills Program, the Washington state Legislature in 1983 knew the importance of increasing opportunities for gainful employment, promoting a productive and expanding economy, and encouraging business and industry support to educational institutions.
Since then, over 75,000 employees at over 1,000 businesses have taken advantage of the skills and training offered through the Job Skills Program.
We’re looking forward to the next 40 years!
