Work can be an absolute nightmare, and saying we’re in love with our job every single day would just be a lie! Fortunately, my team has always been very good at celebrating successes internally, and today is no exception to that as I celebrate my work anniversary at Unicity International. I am usually not the type of person to take risks or to take on challenges that I don't know if I'll succeed or not. I always want to know I'll come out as the winner before I enter any endeavor. But for Unicity, I took the leap even when the firm seemed out of my expertise. To my surprise, they saw the potential in me to lead and train despite not having much professional experience in this line of work. Throughout my stay in the company, I received continuous challenges that pushed me to expand and build my business acumen and conflict management skills. But the aspect that my team influenced me the most, is my overall vision of a better working environment. In that vision, I was able to share and help propagate this purpose of nurturing team members by training and enabling them to be their absolute best. I believe that the guidance, praise, and feedback that I have received from colleagues, seniors, and clients were all equally integral in building my exceptional Unicity experience, and I hope they all know how grateful I am that they put their trust and faith in me. For me, working in the corporate world, or in any kind of industry, is never a sprint, race, or game of who never stumbled or failed. You are your own world and your narrative is uniquely yours. So continue to persist no matter what. No matter how cosmic or intimidating an opportunity is, take that step! You'll never know how capable and ready you really are if you don't try. Remember, trying is only half the game, so take courage and leap forward! Exciting times ahead! And I can only look forward to improving from my previous best. Thank you, Unicity. 💙

Thank you to everyone who noted my recent work anniversary (particular thanks to those who asked if we started Big Picture before I started school – drinks are on me 😉). To be honest, for the last few years I’ve had a momentary cringe when the number comes up – 20+ years is a very long time to spend in the same business. But that’s the point: Big Picture is not the same business it was when we started. It’s not the same as it was when we hired our very first employee (still referred to as our First Born). It’s not the same as it was pre-pandemic. Almost every day brings something new. The bids are bigger. Our team is more diverse. Our involvement runs deeper. Our experience and insights are more informed, more valuable, more recognised. We work with global clients we could only dream of attracting when we started. And there’s still so much I want us to achieve: - International growth - Greater engagement with our infrastructure sector - More involvement during the delivery phase of the projects we help win - Exploring new horizons in community and stakeholder engagement, sustainability and AI. So I’ve decided to embrace that ever-increasing number of years 'in the same business'. Because it’s not the same business. It’s even better.

I just received many kind messages from very nice people congratulating me on a work anniversary . I sincerely thank them all for this nice gesture but it also made me wonder, Is the day we start to work at one place is really an anniversary worth celebrating ?? For a number of reasons I don’t think so. 1. It’s merely a random date for the beginning of a professional relationship with an employer. 2. It’s not personal at all. 3. It will not last forever. 4. Your employer will never congratulate you on that date. For him it’s another ordinary day weather you spent a year or 5 years or even 20 years with the company. An anniversary by nature is the annual recurrence of a date marking a notable event. Thus why do we, employees, celebrate that date and call it an anniversary ? Why don’t our employers also celebrate it ? With all the due respect to all those nice professionals who congratulated me l, but I think we should stop. I believe an anniversary should be called upon much more important personal events on our life. A marriage, an engagement or the birth of a child but not the day we started a new job. What do you think ? 🤔🤔🤔

I am deeply grateful for all the heartfelt messages of congratulations regarding my “ 9 years” at Good Things Guy. However, it’s ridiculosuly funny how we can sometimes find ourselves in a loop of automated responses on LinkedIn. Example (and I am sure this is totally relatable): Person: “Congrats on your work anniversary” Me: “Thank you” Person: “You’re Welcome” Me: “Awesome” Person: “Nice” Me: “👍🏼” Person: “Okay” Me: “Okay” Person: “Thank you”  Person: “You’re Welcome” Me: “Awesome” Person: “Nice” Me: “👍🏼” Person: “Okay” Me: “Okay” Person: “Thank you” You get the point. 😂🤣

TraceLink Being Grateful✨ Hey everyone!! This is the first time I am posting something here!! I just wanted to express my gratitude for landing a job at the most wonderful company! To be honest, I never aspired to work in the corporate sector, given all the negative things I had heard about companies, managers, coworker politics, and the work-life imbalance. However, due to certain circumstances, I had to find a job, and with God's grace, I found myself at a company called Tracelink. I had never heard of it before, nor had I prepared for this job, but one thing led to another, and here I am. One of the most beautiful aspects of Tracelink is its people. The HR team Sweta Ghosh (SG) along with Shivani Savarkar (embodies excellence and determination) focuses on finding not just talented individuals, but those with the right mindset. I appreciate their prioritization of behavior over sheer knowledge, as they believe that people are the company's greatest assets and would never want any liabilities in the workspace. The welcome done by the HR team has all my heart , the events they organize , the thoughts they put on gifts for every occasion , I personally appreciate that !! The environment here is amazing, to say the least. You wouldn't believe how well my manager treats me. If I ever work late at night, they personally remind me to take care of my health and get enough sleep, urging me not to overdo things. They prioritize people's health above all else, and isn't that the dream of so many employees out there? I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be living this dream. They also provides healthy, nutritional food for its employees on a regular basis, further demonstrating their commitment to their team's well-being. I am surrounded by hardworking individuals in my team, and our scrum meetings are the highlight of my day. I'm just overflowing with gratitude for Mark Gibbons ,Corazon Jimenez ,Swasti Jain Parivesh Nande, Khole Sahu and all my MAPS team. Here's to my first company TraceLink and the days that have flown by so quickly. Now I couldn't imagine working for a company that doesn't prioritize its work culture like Tracelink does!

Appreciation Post 📯 Yayy!!! Successfully completed 15 days (about 2 weeks) with InfusAi. The feeling of gratefulness & excitement emerged from within while sharing the experience. Working Remotely is a game changer for me, in the space of Digital Transformation, I feel the difference, the change in how companies of any scale be it large enterprises or SMBs changed their way of operating business post-COVID. Digital Transformation is now not limited to just one Business Objective - Profit but how to achieve it with the help of predefined and streamlined processes, followed in a manner that at an individual level as well as at an organizational level, your digital work footprints are appreciated and followed. Utilizing CRM and other software tools for sales has revolutionized my approach toward the discipline of work. 📈 The Result? Thank you for all the comments and notes on my work anniversary with 22 years under my belt as a facilitator, speaker and advisor. As the grateful dead said "What a long strange trip it has been" . . . but in a good way. I thought I would share a few observations as I reflect on the journey (in no particular order and just a few random thoughts) 1) I think of my business like a business portfolio. Like a good financial portfolio it needs diversity and when one element isn't as strong, turn up the others. 2) I try to keep an eye on what challenges and opportunities my clients are running into and what is happening in business/industry overall. Where are there shifts happening and shifts on the horizon. 3) When someone says they have a problem, I have an opportunity to help. 4) I try to over service my clients, provide value added at no cost. Surprise them. 5) Pick and choose my customers. Not every company/person is a good fit for me and I am not a good fit for every company/person. In the early days, I would take anything, but it cost them and me. 6) Collect and create tools, ideas and concepts. I have a folder of tools and resources I have created or collected that I can access quickly. 7) Although I like to create, a fellow colleague said we are "curators" pulling together unique items that satisfy our clients. 8) It takes 3 years to build a business model. Every time I have ventured into something and thought "I can get that going quickly", it turns out that it takes much longer, usually it's 3 years before I can see it as a viable venture. Ok, enough rambling, just some thoughts to share as gratitude for the kind words everyone shared on this touchstone moment. There are definitely other thoughts, maybe some day I will write them all down. Maybe you have some experiences to share too. . .
