On August 7th, Paula Pulley was promoted to Kentucky Senior Director, alongside Senior Director Eric Roberson. Paula has been serving as the Area Executive Director for Dungarvin’s operations in Lexington and has provided leadership to the largest Kentucky area office for 20 years, the past three with Dungarvin and 17 years prior with CAKY, which Dungarvin Kentucky acquired in 2020. As many of you know, Paula has great experience, having worked in all facets of operations. She started as a Home Manager and has lead teams in case management, day training, periodic services, staffed residences, and host home residential services. Paula is an expert in Kentucky regulations with well-established relationships both within the organization and with our stakeholders. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the Senior Director role, and we look forward to supporting her ongoing success as Kentucky continues to restructure focusing on our mission of "respecting and responding to the choices of people in need of supports." Get to know her a little better through 5 Questions with... Paula Pulley: 1. Why do you have a passion for this work – how so – please briefly explain. People are my passion. The people we support, our amazing employees and my coworkers. I love helping people to become happier and more independent. 2. What is your most treasured possession? I don’t really treasure possessions, I treasure time spent with my family and friends and travelling to new places. 3. What do you most value in a friend or a co-worker? Loyalty, honesty and compassion. And a bit of sass doesn’t hurt. 4. What would you most like to see happen in your state to better serve people with disabilities? Increased reimbursement rates so we can better serve the people we support. 5. What do you most value about the Dungarvin team with whom you work? I work with the most amazing team of people. They are compassionate, hardworking and fun.

Working with your board and council is key to aligning strategy for the future of your community. A reminder that in our industry, an open mind is one of the best things a board, council or court member can bring to the table. The power of the multiplication effect that exists when like minded individuals come together for a purpose bigger than themselves, is still awe inspiring to me. When I birthed Community Sustainability Enterprise over 8 years ago, my vision was to change the economic trajectory of low income/high potential families, one layer at a time. We are doing just that through the business relationships I’ve been blessed to forge over my 14 years in Georgia. Our clients are overcoming economic barriers, through education, 1 to 1 coaching, financial literacy, livable wage employment, therapy, physical wellness, and so much more. I want to brag on a real ride and multiply CSE partner, Attorney Erik Provitt, JD, CFE. Erik is quiet and effective. When he goes in that phone booth and puts his Superman cape on, some bad person is about to get schooled💪🏾👏🏾 Eric took on one of CSE’s single mothers through our United Way grant who was wronged by her landlord after an eviction. Her landlord stole the washer & dryer she was paying for and blocked her from calling him. He also became non responsive with Attorney Provitt. Erik put that cape on, and we put on our advocacy hats, and I wrote to Aaron’s to share Ms. Johnson’s story. Today, I am proud to report our friends at Aaron’s not only forgave Ms. Johnson’s debt, but they are blessing this single mom of 3, who also happens to be a domestic violence survivor, with a brand new washer and dryer🙌🏾👏🏾🙌🏾 Aaron’s is true to their corporate social responsibility mission: Aaron's is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and to making a positive impact on the communities we serve. At CSE, we support our families through our 5 pillar partnerships: Social Emotional Wellness, Physical Wellness, Educational Attainment, Workforce/Career Development and Financial Literacy/Capability. It's time for the next #FACSfamFriday! Meet Grant Paulson, our Contract Administrator based in the Hayward office. What’s your favorite thing about working at FACS?  One of the things I love most about working at FACS is the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that have a positive impact on the environment. It's incredibly fulfilling to be part of a team that's dedicated to making a difference in the world. What is one thing we don't know about you (non-work-related)? Outside of work, I'm all about hockey, golf, hiking, and most importantly, spending quality time with my family. What is one thing that you geek out about?  I'm a bit of a history buff and love diving into the stories and events that have shaped our world. Whether it's ancient civilizations, wars, or cultural movements, I find it fascinating to explore the complexities of the past and how they've influenced our present. What is your favorite store to shop at in-person or virtually? When it comes to shopping, I'm a huge fan of browsing through local farmer's markets. Do you have any pets? Yes, I'm proud to say I have a rescue dog named Tusk, who brings endless joy to my life. He's a delightful mix of Shiba Inu and Husky, and our favorite activity is going to the brewery together and hunting lizards! What is your favorite book to read?  Two of my top picks are "The Worlds That Made Us" by Akhil Reed Amar, delving into the historical roots of American constitutional law, and any work by Dr. Seuss, whose imaginative stories always bring joy and inspiration. What is your favorite random fact?  The term "Windy City" was not originally coined because of Chicago's weather, but rather because of its politicians.
