Working with IT infrastructure leaders for decades, I've seen these emerge as the 7 key pillars of IT infrastructure excellence: 1. Jugaad is NOT a strategy: In the land of jugaad, it's tempting to cobble together quick fixes. But your IT infrastructure isn't a Bollywood set – it needs to stand the test of time. Stop patching holes and start building foundations. Real innovation comes from robust, scalable systems, not makeshift solutions. 2. Cloud is NOT a magic wand: Everyone's talking about cloud migration like it's the next big blockbuster. But here's the truth – without proper strategy, it's like sending your data on a wild goose chase. It's not about lifting and shifting; it's about transforming your operations. Don't just follow the herd – lead it with a clear, tailored cloud strategy. 3. Security is NOT an afterthought: In a world where cyber threats are as common as chai stalls, treating security as an add-on is a recipe for disaster. Your infrastructure needs to be secure by design, not by accident. Integrate security at every level – from hardware to software, from the data center to the edge. 4. Data is the new oil, but DON'T let it spill: We've all heard that data is the new oil. But unlike oil, data multiplies. Your infrastructure needs to be ready not just to store this data, but to harness its power. Think beyond storage – think data analytics, AI integration, and real-time decision-making capabilities. 5. Automation is NOT about replacing people: In a country with our demographic dividend, automation can be a touchy subject. But here's the deal – smart automation in IT infrastructure isn't about cutting jobs; it's about empowering your team to do more. It's about freeing your brightest minds from mundane tasks so they can focus on innovation. 6. Sustainability is NOT just a buzzword: With power costs skyrocketing and environmental concerns mounting, your IT infrastructure needs to go green. This isn't just about CSR – it's about smart business. Energy-efficient data centers, optimized cooling systems, and sustainable practices aren't just good for the planet; they're good for your bottom line. 7. Vendor lock-in is NOT inevitable: In the complex world of IT infrastructure, it's easy to get tied down to a single vendor. But remember, flexibility is key in our fast-changing tech landscape. Build your infrastructure with interoperability in mind. Your systems should be able to adapt and evolve, not hold you hostage to outdated tech. What's your take on these pillars? Which one resonates most with your experience? What's your biggest IT infrastructure challenge? Share in the comments. #ITInfrastructure #TechInnovation #DigitalTransformation

Solid pillars indeed : lucid yet striking! 8. Process & Technology needs to work hand-in-hand to achieve Seamless Operation. Often times, we see Technology folks hate process requirements and Process folks gets frustrated with the lack of understanding & support from techies 9. Automation vs. Elimination : need to identify & eliminate non-value adding tasks using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) 10. Time to break the conventional wisdom of L1, L2 & L3 structure and evolve a new age model like Machine-Man-Customer Touch

Sir, Thanks for sharing. Point number 2 and 5, Cloud migration and Automation you have explained brief and clear.

#4...Data: it is highly undervalued and under-attended-to......it needs a strategy and exponentially higher investment of time & resources. Especially in the AI age.
