I was part of an interesting LinkedIn experiment yesterday. I happened to post something right around the same time as Darren McKee made the post below, he happened to see it, and then was kind enough to not only react, but to comment on my post. Twice. So naturally, I was excited and waited all day for my post to explode in popularity amongst his 100,000 plus followers. Funny thing, though. It didn't. It has had about 1,000 impressions, which is pretty normal for me, but they were all from the same titles, locations, and companies I usually see, and all but one of those that reacted were people I'm already connected to. Here's what I learned: 1) I have no idea how this algo really works. I'm sure there was some impact from Darren's reactions, just not what I expected. Maybe more of my network saw it because Darren saw it, not necessarily more of his. That's interesting. 2) It was a pretty average post, so I shouldn't be surprised that it got an average reaction. Just because someone with a big following happens to react doesn't change that fact. 3) I'm grateful that Darren and others in my network choose to interact with my content while I continue to learn how to produce it. This is pretty special place. Like Darren said, WE is greater than ME. I don't need to go viral to prove that. Safe travels my friends.

After an amazing journey spanning 9 fulfilling years, the time has come for me to bid a fond farewell to Kent Place School. As I enter into a phase of reflection,  I can't help but feel an immense sense of pride and gratitude for my growth–both personally and professionally–and my achievements in the name of empowering girls to be confident, intellectual, and ethical leaders who advance the world.
