✨It was an honor to attend the #EnhanceSummerSchool “Synergic Urban System” It was organised by the most prestigious European universities Politecnico di Milano Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich RWTH Aachen University Technische Universität Berlin Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) Warsaw University of Technology. ✔️This allowed me to learn new knowledge about #HealthAndWellbeing, #ClimateChange, #EconomicLife, #SocialLife, #NaturalLife, #AccessibilityAndConnectivity, #EqualityAndInclusiveness and to apply this knowledge to rethink the current #SantaGiuliaUrbanRegenerationPlan designed by Lendlease 🧠I and my amazing group thought a neighbourhood more #inclusive, #connected for all populations (animals and humans), #carfree, #socially and #environmentally aware. 🤝I would like to thanks all the students and Professors of the different Universities because they allowed me to enrich my cultural background. A special thanks go to Stefano Salata e Andrea De Toni that organised this Summer School 2024 and allowed to live this week in the best possible way.

InnoArch is celebrating a milestone collaboration! We're excited to share the seed we have planted in the past months with CODEsign for COEXistence (CODE-COEX): The framework for scaling Biocities with nature-based solutions for planetary well-being. A remarkable collaborative effort towards internationalization. Partners from five European countries—Norway, Portugal, Spain, Poland, and Finland—formed a multidisciplinary team of architects, ecologists, health experts, and city planners, united with a shared vision. Together, we established a common ground for creating resilient, sustainable "Biocities." Our goal is to promote planetary well-being by integrating Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and New European Bauhaus (NEB) values into urban planning. These initiatives focus on restoring biodiversity, adapting to climate change, and enhancing the quality of life for all species. In a short time, we created  a cohesive framework across Europe, demonstrating the power of international cooperation and innovative thinking. From the virtual model into reality, but with the environment in mind 🌎 Proposed project ideas are turned into reality in the testing phase. One of four testing facilities of the project is located at the polytechnic university of Turin. Politecnico di Torino is the oldest public technical university of Italy. It is located in Turin and offers courses in the fields of engineering, architecture, urban planning and industrial design. The university is consistently ranked as one of the best universities in Italy and in Europe. In EM-Tech, POLITO is responsible for work package 6, focusing on the assessment and experimental demonstration of the performance of the project's e-corner and e-axle integrated in a tailored virtual vehicle model. Additionally, the WP will investigate potential environmental impacts (LCA) and economic evolution (LCC) of EM-Tech in-wheel motor and axial flux motor for identified applications following a strong methodological approach. I'm excited to share the details of a significant project I'm currently involved in: the construction of the new University of Milan (UniMi) campus in the MIND (Milano Innovation District) area. The new science campus, securing a total investment exceeding €450 million, with €215 million in financing provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), partially backed by the InvestEU program, spans over 190,000 square meters and will host more than 23,000 students, faculty, and staff. The architectural concept reinterprets the traditional courtyard layout, creating a "Campus 2.0" that fosters a blend of private and public spaces, promoting interaction and innovation. A key feature of the campus is the "common ground," a public space connecting all buildings with walkways and crossings, extending 1,200 meters outdoors and 800 meters indoors. This design ensures year-round accessibility and integrates the campus with the surrounding MIND neighborhood, enhancing collaboration between the academic community and nearby research and development centers. Moreover, the campus will include nearly 100,000 square meters of greenery, with each courtyard showcasing different landscapes from northern Italy. Central spaces like the main square and lake will be ideal for large events, further promoting community engagement. The project's sustainability credentials are significant. It aims to enhance the environmental quality of the area and Milan as a whole. The extensive green spaces will not only provide a pleasant environment for students and staff but also contribute to biodiversity and local ecosystem health. The design includes innovative features to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainable practices. Additionally, the integration with the MIND district, a hub for innovation and sustainability, ensures that the campus is part of a broader effort to create a more sustainable urban environment. This project represents a commitment to reducing the environmental impact of large-scale academic facilities and setting new standards for future developments. This project not only redefines the University of Milan's physical footprint but also represents a broader commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community integration. The campus is set to become a hub for cutting-edge research and collaboration, benefiting both the academic community and the surrounding innovation ecosystem. Cultures of Regeneration Humboldt University, Berlin, DE The Cluster »Matters of Activity« aims to create a basis for a new culture of materials. The central vision of the Cluster is to rediscover the analog in the activity of images, spaces and materials in the age of the digital. Biology and technology, mind and material, nature and culture intertwine in a new way. In this context, the interdisciplinary research and development of sustainable practices and structures is a central concern in areas such as architecture and soft robotics, textiles, materials and digital filters, and surgical cutting techniques. Rapidly increasing socio-ecological damage and the urgent need for care, repair and recovery has led to renewed calls for regenerative design as a means of wayfinding towards new forms of just and sustainable life on earth, prompting critical questions concerning the reconfigured pasts they invoke to the possible futures they open up. Aiming to (re)design the way we live to support the functioning of natural ecosystems, regenerative systems thinking is being applied to fundamental fields of human activity, from food production and agriculture to textiles, architecture, rural revival and the urban built environment to other-worldy materialities.
