HOW DO YOU HANDLE PRESSURE? Imo Essien is a D1 point guard for Old Dominion University. He recently ran his own basketball camp where he was asked how he deals with pressure before games. He said pressure and nerves are natural. He says to invite it and turn it into good. You can’t fight being nervous or pressure. When it's a big game, nerves are natural. Take it and turn it into something good. Pressure can make you prepare better, stay more focused, get good sleep, and know the game plan more. It’s natural. Find a way to turn it into good and turn you into a beast. Watch the short video and read more here: https://lnkd.in/gcEBNg7c

Corporate Unity for efficiency, maximum productivity and profitability. There are many things we can learn from the game of chess. While we may not understand, or be able to figure out each other's next move as we both strategize to checkmate each other's king; just like in the war front, coming out against each other in different ways till the end of the game. We cannot afford to play this same game in a team, whereby we are targeting efficiency, maximum productivity and high profitability. All hands must be on deck not to play the 'opponent game' where team work is the language for winning. Remember, "United we stand and divided we fall." Pitching tent breaks the rule for winning and makes winning together a mirage.

We coaches get educated to find the right training methods and exercises based on our principles that our players are able to find the right decision in the right moment with the best execusion. Taught when to use the right periodization (mental, physical etc.) or how to read the game and adopt to the tactical variations. Call it luck, experience or teamplay (interaction of players and coaches) , whatever, that scene shows how important it is to succeed in football when all decisions interact with each other perfetly. Although the (based on education/ experience or tact) fine feeling of a coach matters, too. 👉 3:2 winning goal 89 minute. #togetherwewin #teamplay #teamwork #luck #emotions #lategoal #regionalliga #nofv #regionalliganofv #berlinerak

Adding real value and delivering successful outcomes to all areas of complex project, programme & portfolio management
Do you need to have a Spice Girl moment? We often have a bias towards action. We want quick results and want to get stuff done. In football, a goalkeeper trying to save a penalty kick will often dive for a corner. Yet your chances of successfully blocking the kick are statistically greater if you simply stay still. Our instinct that doing something is better than doing nothing. A great colleague, Jim Brennan, would often remind people to have a ‘Spice Girl moment’ “Stop right now, thank you very much!” Let’s just think about this for a second. Without sufficient understanding and reasoning to support it, It can lead us to mishandle a situation. Action over inaction is often very beneficial. To make sure you’re making progress. But before you start running off Make sure you’re going in the right direction. #continuouslearning #continuousimprovement #planning #priority #action #criticalthinking #problemsolving

We are 47% through 2024. Here are 5 lessons I've experienced and learned from this week: Lesson 1: If you try your best to do the right thing, the universe eventually finds a way of working in your favour. Lesson 2: It will sometimes feel like the universe is working against you, yet make sure you still just focus in doing the right thing! Lesson 3: The minutes you give your children now will be repaid with hours of connection in the future. Lesson 4: Footballers (like us) are always checking socials. Every critical comment they see takes them further from the great performance we all want. Lesson 5: Strength is realising you have power over your mind…not over external events ❤️ PS - an extra number 6. Lando Norris is a GREAT human. Have a wonderful weekend everyone! 🚀

Lessons from Ted Lasso: Team > Ego 🙌 In Ted's journey, his most talented but egotistical player had to learn this the hard way. Starting as a ball hog, he transformed when benched for not being a team player. Coaches: Bench your best player if they're not sharing the ball. You may lose a game, but you'll teach the importance of team spirit and that no one is bigger than the team. Unselfish play helps elevate the team to another level, and as your athletes grow in sports and life, playing for the greater good becomes even more crucial and significant. #TedLasso #LifeLessons #EcsellSports
