Day Job: I help salons discover their brand story + teach them how to use it to recruit top talent 📣 My side hustle: I make free content sharing how we do it. 🚀 crucial advice: recruiting is marketing 💡 #techfounder
I work with tons of salons in the professional beauty space. Salons state that their #1 problem is finding staff. This is not because there is a shortage of hairdressers or people to hire. There are a variety of reasons for this and I'll drop a few here. 1. Hairdressers and students are looking for jobs in different places than the salon owners are sharing jobs. 2. Salon offerings just aren't that appealing because they haven't evolved their business models so when talent does find them they pass. The entire industry needs a business operations overhaul to get up to speed. But the only people with the capital to ensure this happens at scale are the professional beauty brands. I'm fortunate to work with a few who see the value of this kind of investment in their salon partners. I'd love to work with more so if you work with a professional beauty brand or know a brand that needs help adding more value to the salons they sell products to please make an introduction. :) Times have changed and the way salons show up has to change. Times have changed and the way brand partners add value to salons has to change. Meet them where they are and help them solve their biggest need. It's a win-win for all because the more staff a salon has the more product they purchase. #salonrecruiting #leadership #professionalbeautybrands #beautytech #salongrowth Talent Match Salon Recruiting

Staff turnover in salons/barbershops is huge, Why ? The system is outdated, Most beauty businesses have 1 or 2 positions to grow into at best. If there’re getting promoted once a year, you might have a 2 year LTV, at best! Salon owners should focus on: 1) creating a 3-5 year promotional journey. 2) build systems that add value to their skillsets, not just creating monetary gain. 3) delegate and promote staff to senior positions like crazy, this extends your best staffs LTV by even more than 5 years.

💡 🤝 Here is an #unusual #partnership.... Ulta Beauty has partnered with Mel Robbins to launch The Joy Project. This collaboration emerged from the "Joy Study," a research effort commissioned by Ulta Beauty, which investigated how 5,007 U.S. adults and teens experience joy and the obstacles they face in daily life. The study found that 73% of participants engage in negative self-talk, with 70% not recognizing it when they do, and 91% identifying negative self-talk as a major barrier to experiencing joy. Mel Robbins will conduct a series of mini courses for Ulta Beauty's 53,000 associates nationwide. These courses will equip them with strategies and practical tools to identify and disrupt their inner critic, fostering self-inspiration and inspiring others. Michelle Crossan-Matos, Ulta Beauty's CMO, expressed their commitment to using beauty's power to unleash inner potential and spread joy. As industry leaders, they feel responsible for facilitating change. Mel Robbins highlighted the significance of addressing negative self-talk as the primary impediment to joy, even when most people are unaware of its prevalence. Associates are encouraged to share these joy-enhancing practices with guests, potentially sparking a movement extending beyond Ulta Beauty stores. #positivethinking #partnership #beautyindustry #executivesearch https://lnkd.in/g-xret3Q

director @ Pretty Little Marketer⚡️THE community for people in social media → membership, resources, webinars + events 💌 speaker, community builder + creator 🌎 advisory board member @ CLIQ 🎟️
Pretty Little Marketer takes... ASOS?! 👀✨🎙 I left the desk this week and head to ASOS.com to share some lunchtime thoughts on all things personal branding and owning your career. And how your career doesn't have to be something you passively watch happen - unhappy and unfulfilled. It can be something you create, intentionally and passionately → IF you stop waiting. → Stop waiting for the right person to pop into your inbox. → Stop hoping the dream job will open up soon. → Stop wishing you'd be noticed for all that makes you great. And start... → Relentlessly advocating for yourself. → Inserting yourself into the conversations you want to be in, with the people you want to be in it with. → Embracing the power of who knows YOU, not just who you know. Don't wait, create: the best lesson I ever learned. The biggest thank you to James and Maryam for having me! The dreamiest bucket list moment. 🤍⚡️🪩

How I Spotlighted Beauty Brands to Win on the Sales Floor: As an experienced Beauty Account Manager, I have worked diligently to implement different activations to grow a brand’s retail sales. I developed strong relationships with customers, beauty advisors, key business executives and stakeholders. I’ve worked to identify new business opportunities by evaluating retail sales metrics followed by demographics, areas median income and staying connected to beauty trends. I also bring 10+years of retail sales beauty experience with both personal and professional awareness. I have recruited, trained, coached, motivated, and developed associates on procedures, product knowledge, and team/individual productivity goals. As a top selling specialist, I worked on the Sales & Education portfolio to train beauty team members on the “How to Sell” motto. I spearheaded quarterly beauty trainings/seminars for retailers Ulta Beauty, Sally Beauty, Walgreens and more. As an experienced “Retail Beauty Sales Scholar” and a lover of the beauty industry I have created my own training style to help internal and external team members be successful. I did weekly store visits where I educated, sold, and answered all questions from leadership, customers, and beauty advisors. Understanding the key drivers and conversion rate allowed me the ability to be successful. When hiring brand ambassadors and street team members I created digital assets and did continuous training sessions with my team. I prepared my team for in-store events, expos, and beauty pop-ups. Not everyone will start as a top-seller but teaching the fundamentals and hiring someone who has the genuine passion to succeed is key.
