🛑 Visualisation of Dynamics and Reality of Global Migration. Though most of data about migration is focusing on migration to the United States and the other 36 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, e.g. European ones, still not to much known about the exact origin of immigrants. Also, what is going on in the rest of the world, so the global reality is still very much different. The OECD currently hosts more than half the world’s international migrants because of their high quality of life, economic opportunities, and large foreign-born populations that can ease the socio-economic integration. However, flows of migration, e.g. in Africa are mostly intraregional, and is likely to persist. Here are some facts about future trends in migration (https://lnkd.in/dDYuhujv). With the ongoing rapid shift to multipolar world we are likely to experience dramatic changes in the migration pattarn. Along with declining birth rates in the developing countries, and forced migration triggered from the threats of climate and environment changes the migration pattern would be very much different in the 21 century and beyond. The global awareness about why, where and when people are likely to mitigate somewhere else is very interesting. The international migrants, in terms of total numbers probably will increase in next decades. Many developing countries, e.g. India, Nigeria, and the Philippine, are likely to see increasing emigration rates as rising incomes will provide more people with possibilities to seek better lives abroad. In the past few decades the wealthy Gulf countries had attacted millions of immigrants most of them were guest workers from Asia. The flow of immigrants to the Gulf countries will continue in the future specially with the increasing trade of the MENA region with China and Russia. Also, with the rise of BRICS will have remarkable impacts on the global migration pattern. #UNESCO #ICCP #UNEP #WHO #WMO #WB #IMF #FAO #UNIDO #ILO #IFAD #ICAO #IMO #ITU #UNIDO #WBG #WIPO #UNWTO #UNSDGs #IPBES #WWF #UNICEF

Empowers leaders and organizations with connections, evidence and approaches to catalyze economic opportunities for all
To the positive development trends highlighted in the thoughtful analysis below, I would add an increased focus on collaborating, learning and adapting as we continue co-creation throughout program implementation; robust public-private partnerships and co-investment as we complement donor funding with innovative, sustainable funding; and a heightened emphasis on monitoring impact, particularly with and through local partners. Along with locally led development; green job opportunities and the upskilling and reskilling needed so that those jobs are open for all, particularly marginalized groups; and the rise in integrated development programming that Eric mentions, these exciting, valuable trends are contributing to achieving shared development aims. As we enter 2024, I have high hopes for three trends changing international development for the better. In a new blog, I share my thoughts on why that is and what’s next for these trends in 2024. See if you agree -- and let me know what you think. #usaid #internationaldevelopment https://lnkd.in/dWEBX244
