June 19 is #Juneteenth. On this day in 1865, U.S. Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3, which informed the people of Texas that slavery had ended in the United States and that all enslaved people were free – two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Join HII as we reflect on the significance of the holiday and celebrate freedom for all.
#ICYMI: Todd M. Gentry, president of Mission Technologies’ C5ISR business group, joined our LinkedIn Live series, “Insights & Inspirations from a Visionary,” in December.
In this episode, Todd shared his journey of joining HII after a 31-year career in the government, his vision for servant leadership, and his thoughts on why Mission Technologies is a special place to grow your career.
“We support one another. We are a family,” he said. “Individuals succeed. Teams win.”
Todd attributes his success to having a great team around him and following these key principles:
1. Being client/mission-obsessed and adding value every day.
2. Having a growth mindset and being a sensor for new business opportunities.
3. Adopting a "founder's mentality" by thinking and acting like an owner.
4. Supporting each other as a team/family.
5. Engaging with employees through teaching, mentoring and coaching.

3 week check-in! 👩🏻💻 💼 📊
I have officially completed my first three weeks as a Financial Operations Intern at Mission Technologies, a division of HII! I have had the pleasure of working in both the Tysons and Fair Lakes offices with my fellow interns Sabine Soong and Jacob Amspaugh, alongside our mentors Elizabeth Turk, Greg Milans, Chris Lincoln, and Wendy Williams.
We have been working with multiple business units within the company to examine their financial performance and create backlog and waterfall reports for corporate. We've also had the opportunity to sit in on financial review and proposal meetings with the CFO, presidents, and financial directors of each business unit.
I have already learned so much and cannot wait for the next seven weeks of networking, opportunity, and growth. Thanks again to Mission Technologies for this opportunity to advance my financial career!
