Monday morning, TxDOT released the names of 13 winning bids in its initial NEVI round 1 awards. Tesla (7) and Equilon/Shell Oil (6) swept round 1, with no other companies winning a site bid. The Tesla sites had a range in number of ports, with five locations having 5 ports, and one each with 7 ports and 10 ports. All six of the Equilon sites will have the NEVI minimum of 4 ports. (Note: TxDOT did not release site addresses or requested funding amounts, and won't until early 2024.) Two pieces of advice stand out to Robert that he finds particularly useful. One: less is more. Don't ramble, just present the facts and let them speak for themselves. Two: If you don't make a decision, a decision will make (or break) you. Make the call and keep moving forward, not deciding if something is the wrong decision. Having loved cars since he was a little kid, being able to bring to market the various parts that people need/want to work on their cars is an awesome experience for Robert.
