Tomorrow marks International Day for Women in Mining (IDWIM) - a day to celebrate the achievements of women and raise awareness of the need for gender equality in the mining sector. Mining companies in BC are working to reduce the gender divide in mining. We’re striving to create an environment that’s respectful - and reflective - of the diversity of the communities around us. For example, a key priority for Teck Resources Limited includes improving the representation of underrepresented groups including, but not limited to, women, while Taseko Mines Limited is focused on actively encouraging women to pursue careers in mining by ensuring their work environment is inclusive and improving retention rates for female employees. Together we can achieve greater equity and inclusivity in the board room, head office and at site. #IDWIM2024 #womeninmining
