1moA 'mine' in B.C. is any mechanical disturbance of the ground (read the definition in the Mines Act). That 3 cm hole in the ground you made with a rig is legally a mine. A trench? - another mine..... Highland Valley? A mine (true to the definition of any normal meaning of a mine). Exploration is NOT mining by any stretch of the imagination - except in B.C. It's time to rewrite the B.C. Mines Act respecting a difference between mining and exploration. Mines are not exploration projects, and exploration projects are not mines.
