Such a memorable evening filled with honesty, pragmatism and curiosity! An absolutely fantastic experience for Kimmy Paulino and I at Sustainability Women to work together with Anne Langourieux Rachel Chiam from The Matcha Initiative and Teri at Singapore Global Network to curate and carry out this event where we all “Dare(d) to Dream” to envision Singapore 2040 towards a thriving sustainable future. It truly was team work.   Collective intelligence of the passionate attendees on topics ranging from Education, Mobility & Transportation, Food Security, to Build & Natural Environment, Alternative Business Models and discussing action areas on how to get there by dawning the role of the individual, public, private sector and academia. Shout out to all our exceptional facilitators who helped navigate the group discussion!   An honour to hear real-life examples from our diverse panel:   Rachel Cheang: Promote community ownership and agency, ecosystems need strong communities and to look inward to generate a conversation about what type of returns our investments and capital should be making and for whom Lim Lecarl: Taking us through the nuanced concept of “post-growth”, and sparking questions around how to have a steady-state economy that is in harmony with nature   Mayur Singh: The Green Collective SG Pte Lt (a certified B-Corp) model’s focus on curating, building and scaling sustainable brands; and how the “trust” quotient is such a critical lever in operating businesses   Frantz Braha: SaladStop Group’s efforts of leading the way from a responsible value chain, to product traceability, carbon and impact measurement   Barney Swan: Our moderator for the evening and sharing about the exceptional work at ClimateForce leveraging regenerative agro-forestry and innovative solutioning accelerating nat cap, climate tech opportunities and science ed; posing the difficult question around galvanising and tapping the funding channels / instruments   The discussions resonated with one of the key themes during the ongoing Ecosperity Week on how saving nature is key - supply chains depend on nature and investors are gradually moving the needle and carrying out nature-friendly investing.   Here’s to keeping the momentum going!

Singapore 🇸🇬! It feels like homecoming to be returning to the red dot nation, a place I called home for 6 years. I’m looking to engage with a dynamic spectrum of leaders in our Lion City 🦁, driving advancements in veganism, gender equality, climate action, and sustainability, including but not limited to:  Founders, entrepreneurs, influencers, officials, policymakers, academics and researchers, scientists, tech engineers, artists, authors, filmmakers, journalists, lecturers, and activists. 🧠✍️📖👨💼👩🔬 During my stay from 26th March to 3rd April, 2024, I would like to bring onboard these change-makers as guests on my podcast, Sustainable Tea with Shreya, to get the scoop on innovations like urban farming and vertical gardens 👩🌾, food waste reduction technologies, renewable energy/ sustainable infrastructure and so on. 🌇 I’m also curious to learn more about the Sustainable Singapore Blueprint and Green Plan 🌿🌱 in line with the country’s commitment to the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and the Paris Agreement and get to know the nitty-gritty of these planet-forward strides and goals. 🌍 Moreover, I’m open to building potential brand partnerships, collaborating on social media initiatives, engaging in value-led discussions, and brainstorming sessions with content creators and other vegan allies to amplify our collective impact. 🤝 I can’t wait to explore all the cultural cornerstones, sustainable attractions, and must-visit vegan joints ��� in the city! "You miss every shot you do not take" Today, I was fortunate enough to attend the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) at EXPO, thanks to Nanyang Polytechnic. Entering EXPO, I was shocked by the vast numbers of booths! Opportunities to learn more about sustainability everywhere. Making use of this imited-time festival, I sat through many insightful sustainability innovations and project talks in just one day. Sitting through meaningful talks such as "ESG Co-lab Workshops: Sustainability - building it to last" and "Project Greenprint", I had learnt invaluable knowledge. However, the talk that definitely stood out for me was "Empowering SMEs for net zero". Not only did they share interesting ways to help support Small and Midsize Enterprises (SMEs) towards sustainability, the MCs were engaging, confident and attentive to questions we had! I would be thrilled and excited to share with you about everything that I have learnt from this ongoing project. However, with its very promising ideas like proliferation, accessibility and many more, it would not be enough to just hear it from me. I would highly recommend you learn more about this project from the professionals by attending it! In this 3-day festivial with more than 6 Halls filled with booths, attending the festivial in a single day is definitely not enough. If you are visiting this festivial in the future, I would definitely suggest visiting the festivial for at least two days. These valuable insights learnt from just visiting and listening to these talks will defintely give you a massive advantage for the ever-changing world, especially as being sustainable is finally gaining awareness!

After a 1-month break, and a festive Lunar New Year celebration, we're on to the last leg of our Sustainability Masterclass Series 🎉 Yesterday was Day 4 of The Matcha Initiative's 6-day Sustainability Masterclass Series, in partnership with Elitez Singapore, and we were off to a great start! Day 4 started off with a sharing on the participants' "homework" assignment, which was to take a moment to appreciate nature and the interconnectivity between people and planet, before diving into Carbon Management and Decarbonisation, Sustainability Accounting, and Climate Risk Management in corporations. Here are some key takeaways: 🌳 A renewed sense of value in nature 🤓 Learn from big market players: Their successes and failures can guide your own corporate sustainability reporting and transition 💪 Sustainability will make companies more competitive and better positioned in the market, but only if they act fast One thing made clear during the training was that Singapore is already feeling the effects of climate change, and companies need to act now. We're excited for the next 2 days, and for the perspectives and learning our participants will gain!
