If there’s one thing skims has nailed, it’s picking the perfect brand ambassador at the perfect time. With the release of Bridgerton season 3 and Nicola Coughlan being the current ‘it girl’ on social media, this campaign is just 😙👌🏻 But let’s break down their previous campaigns: 💗Lana Del Ray for the Valentine's Day campaign. I mean come on, queen of heartbreak on the day of love? ICONIC 💗 Jude Bellingham for men’s skims just days before the start of the Euro’s 💗 Paris Hilton for the launch of the velour tracksuits. Y2K nostalgia PERFECTION 💗 Alex Cooper to launch the new wedding collection around the time Alex was preparing for her own wedding Special mentions also to: Ex Victoria Secret Angels, Sabrina Carpenter, Megan Fox, Kim Cattrell, Cardi B. I could go on… Obviously Kim is very well connected and has A LOT of money to make these campaigns work but these campaigns have filled a void in pop culture. In an era of peak influencer culture, celebrity photoshoots have lost a bit of their novelty. Skims is doing something that legacy brands have struggled to deliver in the age of the internet: spotlighting diverse talent in the right way at the right time and creating the sort of campaigns that fans want. From the OG 90s super models, to Usher to SZA - there is something for everyone.

Fun fact about Skims which might speak to why their campaigns just hit the mark, Emma and Jens Grede are actually the masterminds behind the company. He (co-founder and CEO) has a background in fashion design with his company Frame Denim and she (co-founder) is the founder and former CEO of ITB the marketing agency. Emma is also the CEO of Good American and a total badass! 🙌🏼

Agree on the point about money and connections. A lot of other brands probably have these ideas but can’t afford to pay the 6-figures for each collab!
