Two years ago, I added “#Actor” to my repertoire, a nod to a #dream I had long before my #military service. As a young man, I’d envisioned myself on screen, and it’s been a rewarding journey to bring that vision to life post-military. Check out a behind-the-scenes glimpse from one such project, “Panic 9-1-1”, Episode 308 titled “They’re Coming”, and the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/enQYpGTZ. This might seem like a detour, but it’s a testament to staying open-minded, revisiting our dreams, and building upon every past experience. Dreams don’t expire. We owe it to our younger selves, and to the breadth of our potential, to chase them, no matter our current pursuits. Always remain curious, continuously #evolve, and be-audacious enough to take that next step. Life’s too short to box ourselves in. Keep building on your experiences, test new waters, and never shy away from an #opportunity to #grow. Let’s keep evolving, improving, and being the best versions of ourselves. Balancing this venture with my main profession has taught me about the power of resilience and pursuing varied interests. If there’s something you’re contemplating on the side, why not dive in? 🌟 What’s your next move? #DreamsDontExpire #PushYourBoundaries #LifeAfterService #BehindTheScenes #ActorsLife #LifeGoals #veteran AETV #PursueYourPassion #StayCurious #TakingChances #PersonalGrowth #LeadershipDevelopment Wounded Warrior Project Parsons Corporation Transitioning Military Gary Vaynerchuk #GrowthMindset #actor

In the latest Success Paradox #podcast, I spoke to Dr. Theresa Larson DPT, CSCS, USMC. “Dr T.” is a former Marine Corps officer with her fair share of personal challenges – which she speaks about with incredible honesty. She’s also the founder of Movement Rx – an organization that focuses on supporting #veterans and business leaders grappling with #burnout and trauma. What I love about Dr T. is her honesty; she calls it like it is and gives others permission to do the same.

No plan survives first contact. Large portions of the original concept for ‘ONCE, WE WERE WARRIORS’ have been thrown into question, and even into a bin. When you have to “Mag to grid” aspects of your hard work it can be demoralising. But you have to focus on the process. It’s the same when you’re serving in the forces. When the goal posts get changed, or when you get to a finish line only to be given new grid references. It’s not a bully tactic to destroy your soul but a strategy to get you focussing on the bigger picture. Remove the goal posts and be focused on process alone. You go again, and again. That’s what makes a veteran special. The Once we were warriors documentary will highlight these unique qualities and the support some veterans need to rediscover this and a myriad of other skills. Once, we were warriors. A documentary made by veterans, to tell a veterans story. Kickstarter launching in October. You've Heard of Man's Best Friend, But Have You Heard of the Contractor's Best Friend for Finding Cleared Personnel? KGES Specializes in sourcing top-secret cleared candidates for U.S. government contractors
#goodmorning today marks the 22nd anniversary of 9/11. On this episode of O’Dark Thirty Walking with John and Daisy we discuss mindfulness. Your coworkers and people around you are going to go through a range of emotions today and that’s okay. Be considerate to their emotions today. Below are my thoughts from 20th anniversary: "I remember" In my entire life I can remember what I was doing during significant moments in history Berlin Walll Falling Down location in Edina MO on the farm, Space Shuttle Challenger exploding at a friends birthday party, First Shots during Gulf War setting at home in the living room, Rodney King riots picking apples in the backyard. September 11th, 2001 stationed in Kansas City, MO as a young Corporal conducting pistol training class on the white barrels. The North Tower is struck at 8:46 EST. I am thinking to myself what idiot who would run into the World Trade Tower. 9:03 EST the south tower is struck, my heart sank I thought to myself, we under attack and we are going to war. Shortly after that we sent all of our civilians home and went into full lock down mode with Humvee patrols around the Campus. Those moment definitely shaped my military career because a few years later in 2004, I was in OCS followed by a deployment to Iraq in 2006. I know many of your stories are very similar to mine. I also remember when the United States felt more unified during those earlier years post 9/11. I remember when the world responded to our time of need by sending recuse team and aid to New York and Washington DC. I needed to get this off my chest. Remember the fallen and lives lost that day. Please use this post to share your thoughts and memories in the comment section. #september11 #military #NYC
