When a team comes together, amazing things can happen. Whether it’s an internal team or a cross-functional one, aligning on shared values and goals is key. Here are five VITALs to focus on: - Value: Understand what each team member values and align on those values. - Impact: Define the specific changes you aim to make. What are you trying to achieve? - Align: Ensure everyone is on the same page regarding values, goals, and roles. - Team: Identify who is involved, their roles, and responsibilities. - Leadership: Lead effectively by ensuring alignment on values, impact, and team roles. Think about it... - What values are important to each member? - What specific impacts do you aim to achieve together? - How can you ensure everyone is aligned? - Who is in your team, and what roles do they play? - How can you align on these aspects to lead better? You can put this into practice. - Conduct a Values Workshop: Gather your team and discuss individual values to find common ground. - Set Clear Goals: Define what success looks like for your team. What changes are you aiming for? - Ensure Alignment: Regularly check that everyone is on the same page regarding values, goals, and roles. - Clarify Roles: Assign roles and responsibilities clearly. Ensure everyone knows who is doing what. - Lead by Example: Encourage alignment and commitment, fostering a culture of effective leadership.
