It was an absolute privilege facilitating a workshop for the amazing resident services staff at Community HousingWorks.
Working in the nonprofit sector often means forming strong bonds with the people in your communities. There's a sense of dedication that runs deep, and the lines between work and personal life can easily blur. That begs the question: is there a time you really ever "clock out"?
The workshop focused on creating a holistic self, integrating work and life, and the concept of non-negotiables: those essential activities that keep you feeling fulfilled and energized.
Now, here's the sweet spot: we explored how often we betray our own values by not fully embracing these non-negotiables. Think checking work emails during family time, sacrificing your morning routine to "finish just one more thing," or skipping a workout because you feel bound to stay late. Sound familiar?
What if success was measured by the amount of safety we felt within ourselves to stay loyal to our non-negotiables? These are the things that are necessities to our overall well-being, deeply aligned with our values. By prioritizing these activities, we aren't being disloyal – we're leading lives aligned with our whole selves, ones we can feel proud of all around. An empowered you shows up more authentically for your residents, your colleagues, and yourself.
At Love Yours, we're incredibly grateful for the opportunity to come alongside and encourage these amazing community leaders. We believe that aligned individuals lead to empowered communities, and we're here to cheer you on as you prioritize both your well-being and the incredible work you do.
