Senior Director - Cybersecurity - Security Operations, DevSecOps, and Data Protection

After shaking off the scholarly cobwebs, I'm pleased to have completed the CISO Executive Education and Certificate Program at Carnegie Mellon University - Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy. This program was 6 months of hard work that included 18 modules from many world class instructors from both the Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University and Industry. When the first instructors include Alan Levine and Jack Jones you know you are attending the right CISO program. For those who may not recognize the names, the work on the APT1 report or the FAIR model would not exist without these two folks. I could rave about every instructor but this would be an insanely long post. Along the way each cohort team had numerous deliverables to submit which all culminated in a final full cybersecurity plan including risk tolerances, budgets, incident remediation and other real world topics that every CISO is expected to be responsible for. The final hurdle is presenting to a mock Executive Leadership Team for the case study company assigned. What an experience. Thank you to David Ulicne who is the Director for the program. You are the master conductor of this exceptional orchestration for cyber executives. Without you this program isn't nearly as successful. Dan Costa and Tim B., my teammates in this adventure. Thank you for your dedication, hard work, expertise, and partnership. Rich Friedberg may get to keep the "Best in Cohort" cup, but we earned it for him! A special thanks to Aamir Niazi for being such an involved cohort member and encouraging everyone along the way. Now back to the war against our adversaries in cyber.
