Retired from Organon

May 10 was my last day at Organon. When I joined Organon, my goal was to help build a pipeline and an R&D organization with a focus on nonclinical development. After 3 years, I feel like I accomplished my mission. Organon now has very good team of Nonclinical Development scientists and has several assets in the discovery and early development pipeline. The early pipeline at Organon is almost entirely the result of a small and highly productive Discovery team in Turku, Finland which I had the privilege of leading. During these past 3 years I learned a lot about women's health and the importance of developing more effective therapies for diseases like endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). I hope Organon and other companies continue to invest in R&D that is absolutely critical to advance this field of medicine. All the best to my former Organon colleagues! As for me, this is my second "retirement." My first one lasted 2 months. We'll see how long this one lasts.

Congratulations for achieving a wonderful goal.

It was a privilege working with you Mike. Thank you for giving me the opportunity at Organon. You’ve made me a better scientist and made me realize how much i missed working in Pharma. I hope you continue to do something you’re passionate about. Like you’ve said…you never viewed developing drugs as a job. It was your passion!
