In a world where we are encouraging people to be their authentic self in the workplace, are we (people leaders) conducting interviews in baseball caps and t-shirts? Someone close to me is interviewing with various companies within the insurance industry and discussions have come up on some of the interviews and whether things have really changed *this much* that being authentically you has changed the entire landscape of what’s professionally acceptable or not. I know I attended a conference two weeks ago and a business field meeting last week for four days and I can say with certainty people are still dressing at the very least business casual. What are your thoughts? #yourthoughts #hiring #interviews #insuranceindustry #multigenerationalworkforce

Are you honest about the downsides of working for you/in your business? ❌ None of us are perfect ❌ And no employer is perfect ➡ I think there's a lot of power in understanding those imperfections, ➡ Articulating them well in a two-way interview process between candidate and client ➡ And understanding what skills/traits will complement those gaps I feel this approach goes a long way in minimising the risk of a poor hire/fit

Congratulations! You’ve considered all the interviews, assessments, reference checks, and you think you’ve found the right person for the job. You’re ready to hire! Here’s how to do it effectively. 👉 DO IT NOW. If you’ve decided on your hire, don’t wait. Extend the offer promptly. It’s only fair to them, and besides, if you don’t, they might look somewhere else. 👉 MAKE IT CLEAR. Clearly delineate the terms and conditions of employment. You don’t want any confusion around this. 👉 SET A 90-DAY TRIAL PERIOD. Do NOT skip this. Even the most thorough process can go sideways. A 90-day trial period will allow you to assess productivity and determine if it’s a win-win for both you and your employee. Just one more step to go…. #hiring #LeadershipDevelopment #FuelYourTeam 👋I’m Yachet Landau. I create freedom for entrepreneurs so they can scale their businesses to unlimited potential
