Our Overpressure Specialists love that Curtiss-Wright Valves Division's Farris 3800 series pilot-operated relief valves do things conventional spring-operated relief valves cannot! The 3800 is perfect if your application requires you to operate beyond 90% of your set pressure, you have high variable back pressure, you need a full bore PRV for your required capacity, or you want maximum seat tightness as pressure rises. Both the Snap-Acting and Modulating pilot controls allow for bubble-tight operation close to set pressure and are unaffected by back pressure. In addition to robust overpressure protection, the 3800 Series allows maximum product throughput, increased system profitability, and reduced fugitive emissions. The modulating pilot control responds gradually and proportionately rises in over pressure, minimizing product losses and reducing reaction forces when the flow requirement is below the maximum rated flow of the valve. Bearing Maintenance Practices To Ensure Maximum Bearing Life Thanks Brian Dahmer for sharing. Abstract: Reliability of centrifugal pumps is heavily dependent on bearing reliability. The bearings that support the impeller shaft are complex machine components whose service life is directly affected by: Contamination (both particulate and water); Lubrication method and lubricant type; Mounting and dismounting techniques; Selection of components; Control of inactive bearing rolling elements; Proper housing support and alignment. In addition, there are major risks to bearings from unexpected loading conditions as well as exposure to vibration while idle. The effects of these conditions and how to avoid the risks need to be considered in order to maximize service life. Lastly, condition monitoring is an excellent way to maintain awareness of the health of bearings.
