Today, we celebrate #Juneteenth. African Americans make up 13% of the U.S. population, but 28% of those waiting for an organ transplant. Dr. Velma Scantlebury, the first African American female transplant surgeon in the U.S., reminds us: "Increasing organ donation in minority communities is not just about numbers—it's about saving lives and giving hope to families." Your decision to sign up as a donor can save lives and bring hope to those on the transplant waiting list and their families. 💙💚 Thank you to The Association for Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation for creating the artwork to educate, honor, and celebrate Juneteenth.

Polarity is getting us nowhere, in Israel/Gaza or in our own country. I've been a volunteer leader for decades in the nonprofit organization Family and Home Network. We believe, as renowned children's doctors T.Berry Brazelton and Stanley I. Greenspan wrote, "In order to protect the future for one child, we must protect it for all children." This is the most hopeful article I've read on Israel/Gaza, and the organization founded in 2015 to work together for a shared future - Standing Together: https://lnkd.in/gxz5DSYC

What does Jewish peoplehood look like during war times? Coordinators from the Israeli youth organizations and COYO's staff participated in our partners'- The World Zionist Organization , unique conference, "The Heshel Conference on Jewish Peoplehood and Israel Diaspora Relations in wartime". For several years, the youth organizations in Israel have been deepening and working to increase Jewish peoplehood, and in this complex period, there are many questions about its design and visibility. "Jewish peoplehood is the ability to maintain Jewish unity and Israeli unity, and yes, it is the basis of our existence," said Dr. Yizhar Hess, vice chairman of the World Zionist Organization, an ally who delivered a particularly fascinating lecture on this subject. COYO will increase its efforts so that Israeli youths will recognize the importance of connection and connection to Diaspora Jewry in general, and North and South America in particular. if you are interested in donating to the activities of the children and youth organizations and strengthening the relationship with the Diaspora, click here > https://lnkd.in/dgCe9CGa

An ally is someone who stands up when others are sitting down, speaks when others are silent, and acts when others look away. 🤝 Last week, I had the privilege of attending the Philanthropy Roundtable Annual Conference in Southern California, a gathering of dedicated business leaders and philanthropists who share a common commitment to advancing liberty, opportunity, and personal responsibility through their charitable giving. The discussions and insights shared during this event were not only inspiring but also a testament to the immense potential of philanthropy to drive positive change. What was truly heartening was the support exhibited by these visionary leaders for Israel and its people, underlining the profound significance of the U.S.-Israel alliance. 🇺🇸🤝🇮🇱 Amidst the current heartbreaking situation in Israel, it is imperative that we emphasize the value of alliances and partnerships in combating antisemitism beyond the Jewish community. The fight against this hatred is not one that can be waged in isolation, and it's vital for all of us to recognize that antisemitism is a global threat that impacts us all. By working together, we can aspire to a future where hate, extremism, and antisemitism are eradicated. Let's stand together, speak out, and take action against hatred and discrimination, for the benefit of all humanity. #Allyship #Philanthropy #EndAntisemitism #StandWithIsrael

🌟 Honoring Juneteenth at Clever 🌟 Tomorrow, we recognize Juneteenth, a day in 1865 when the enslaved people of Galveston, Texas finally learned of their emancipation more than 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Juneteenth is a day that holds significant meaning in the ongoing fight for Black liberation today. We hope you will spend the day intentionally - whether that be self-education, allyship, or to simply rest and be with loved ones. ➡️ Ways to recognize: We encourage everyone to take actionable steps toward fostering equity. Support Black-owned businesses, donate to organizations that promote racial justice, engage in community service, attend a public celebration, read material on the history of and present day manifestations of systemic racism - particularly for Black communities. #LifeatClever #Juneteenth #DiversityAndInclusion #EquityInEdtech

Shrine boards are the best way to manage a religious place. They ensure the best use of public donations and the delivery of common-use services to visitors at affordable prices. Perspective Two: ## Evaluating the Role of Shrine Boards While shrine boards can play an important role in managing religious places, it's important to consider the nuances and potential drawbacks of this approach: ### Potential Benefits of Shrine Boards - **Efficient Use of Donations**: Shrine boards can help ensure that public donations are used effectively to maintain the religious site and provide services to visitors. - **Standardized Services**: Shrine boards can help establish consistent pricing and quality of common-use services like accommodation, food, and transportation for visitors. - **Oversight and Accountability**: Shrine boards, when properly structured, can provide oversight and accountability for the management of the religious site. ### Potential Drawbacks of Shrine Boards - **Lack of Transparency**: There have been concerns raised about the transparency and accountability of some shrine boards, particularly regarding the use of funds and decision-making processes. - **Commercialization Concerns**: There are worries that shrine boards can lead to the over-commercialization of religious sites, prioritizing revenue generation over the spiritual and cultural aspects. - **Representation and Inclusivity**: The composition and decision-making processes of shrine boards may not always be representative of the diverse stakeholders and communities associated with the religious site. ### Balancing Interests and Perspectives Ultimately, the effectiveness of shrine boards in managing religious places depends on a variety of factors, including the specific context, the governance structure, the level of transparency and accountability, and the ability to balance the interests of different stakeholders. It's important to carefully consider the potential benefits and drawbacks and to seek input from a range of perspectives to ensure that the management of religious sites serves the needs of the community and upholds the spiritual and cultural significance of these important places.
