Research projects are crucial to us in order to develop our knowledge and technology, and also get in contact with companies and research communities both within and outside of Norway. There is enormous potential for efficiently breeding mealworms, with their extremely short life cycle, to achieve better production results. We are collaborating with organizations like Aninova to explore this potential and determine if we can improve the growth and feed conversion rate of mealworms through selective breeding. With this project, we are on the starting line of an exciting field, with much potential. Aninova NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences Klosser Innovasjon AS

INSECTA 2023 which was held on September 13-14, 2023, in Magdeburg, Germany was a big success. Me and my PPM team would like to thank you everyone, the 20 sponsoring partners, more than 253 participants, our 3 keynote speakers, event team, the service team and all other members who directly or indirectly supported us to make the platform to that big. The participant represented more than 70 different companies and 33 universities/institutions to discuss around various topics related to insects ranging from processing & commercialization, breeding, application in non-food, nutritive value, genetics, application of artificial intelligence, application of sensor technology, and many more. The three parallel sessions comprising of 22 sessions and 40 posters allowed academicians, scientists, industry professionals to not only exchange their ideas with one another but provided a platform to plan our future collectively. We hope that your contribution will keep coming further in our upcoming INSECTA conference and make the platform even bigger. Thank you! See you again in 2025 in Magdeburg - Germany. YUGMA 3.0 - The annual DBIS Science & Tech Fest. At DBIS we had our 3rd YUGMA Science Exhibition. With our topic being ' Molecules to Machines' we chose to exhibit the topic of Molecular Gastronmy. With over 1 month of preperation we put it nearly 30 hours behind this project and the outcome paid off. We had a range of exhibits within our own project including : 1) Live Experiments of Proteins and Biuret, Fats and Ethanol, Starch and Iodine 2) Recored experiments of Spherification, Emulsion. 3) We had a live model that reprented the Impulses that our tounge send to our brains via the cranial nerves. This Project of ours was aimed towards educating people about the science behind the food we eat & taste and to also explain the various ways we can apply this concept to make a smarter and revolutionized country. We had real world applications such as food nutrient testing machines and "Scent ID's" security. Our project was named Culinary Canvas and i can proudly say that we did justice to our name. Just as a Canvas we depicted the varied colours and emotions that food can bring to our lives and also painted a picture of how we can harness the power of molecules into revolutionizing our world. I would like to Thank the entire Science departement of DBIS for helping and guiding us through this project and my entire team for their tremendous contribution and support througout this project. #scienceandtechnology #donbosco #project #innovation

I am excited to share our new research, 'Graph Neural Networks-enhanced Relation Prediction for Ecotoxicology', published in the renowned Journal of Hazardous Materials (Impact factor 13.6). Paper link: https://lnkd.in/giJrJBwG Exposure to toxic chemicals threatens species and ecosystems. Our study pioneers the use of #GNNs in #ecotoxicology by collaboratively modelling #interactions between 100s of aquatic #species and 1000s of #chemicals, which provides a viable alternative to traditional in-vivo testing methods. This work is highly relevant and valuable as it can offset the reliance on animal testing for developing #environmental #protection policies. Our data-driven approach leverages machine #learning to utilise existing experimental databases more effectively, aiding in the progress of #sustainable research. As worldwide agencies enforce a reduction in animal testing, methods like ours can help achieve the targets sooner by exploring alternatives. I am incredibly proud of this work and grateful to the amazing team at #CSIRO - Piotr Koniusz, Anu Kumar, Lisa Golding, Matthew Morgan and Peyman Moghadam. #relationprediction #collaborativefiltering #interdisciplinary #GraphNeuralNetworks #deeplearning #PyG #research #collaboration #postdoc
