It explores the battle between self-doubt and the desire to achieve greatness. - 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗽! 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗼 𝗜𝘁.: This iconic message is at the heart of the commercial, inspiring viewers to push their boundaries and chase their dreams. 💭𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁: - 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: An atmospheric scene with black and white tones, perfect for slow-motion, dreamy visuals. - 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀: The characters will be represented as silhouettes, either black or white depending on the background, keeping the focus on their movement and the emotions they evoke. - 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: The commercial will showcase various sports, all with minimal production design and high-contrast cinematography. - 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: Expect super quick cuts of shoes shattering glass, screens, and expectations - a metaphor for overcoming the fear. - 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗩 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀: We'll be using these elements to create a visually impactful and thought-provoking experience. It's hard to believe that Nike paid a measly $35 for this logo back in 1971. Given that Nike's net worth is now around $107 billion, it's probably the best investment Nike has ever made. Interestingly, the logo wasn't the work of a large branding agency, or even a freelance designer. It was the work of a graphic design student, Carolyn Davidson, who took the job as a side project to earn some extra money (she charged at $2 an hour). Carolyn was approached by her then professor (who went on to found Nike), to design a logo for an athletic shoe and the "Nike Swoosh" was the result. Apparently, her professor wasn't even keen on the design at first - his words "I don't love it, but it will grow on me"! I did feel a little sorry for Carolyn, earning so little for something that's gone on to be so much. But then I discovered that,12 years later (after Nike had gone public), Nike awarded her a gold (swoosh) diamond ring and 500 company shares, after inviting her back to a Nike reception. A debt of gratitude well and truly repaid. 1 PM musings: Today, as I find myself nestled between the tickings of time, my contemplation is directed towards the tapestry of iconic designs that shape our modern world. 🕐🎨 The Apple logo - sleek and minimalist yet brimming with the essence of innovation. Every time I glimpse that bitten apple, it's not just a brand I see. It's decades of innovation, of pushing boundaries and setting benchmarks for the tech world. 🍎 Then there's Nike's swoosh - an epitome of motion, ambition, and breaking limits. A simple curve, yet it resonates with every athlete, every dreamer aiming for that extra mile. Just Do It, they say. And millions are inspired to heed that call. ✔️ Designs, when done right, transcend their physical forms. They become stories, ideologies, and movements. 1 Minute Designs 🚨 This week it's an Adidas Website Banner: SC Premiere's 🔍 The Process: Inspiration & Research: I started by immersing myself in everything Adidas, studying the SC Premiere's design, history, and target audience Concept Development: Sketching out initial ideas, I aimed to capture the shoe's essence—minimalist, stylish, and versatile. I experimented with different layouts, color schemes, and typography Design & Execution: Using Adobe CC, I crafted the final design, focusing on high-quality visuals and a clean, modern aesthetic that aligns with Adidas' brand identity Feedback: I shared the design with fellow creatives for feedback, refining it based on their insights Designing the Adidas SC Premiere banner reminded me of why I love what I do.
