Chief Executive at Cancer Research UK (CRUK)

Our internal networks are such an important part of the work culture at Cancer Research UK (CRUK). Today our ‘Age Positive Network’ hosted a ‘Menopause Allies’ masterclass on how we can all be good menopause allies and support our colleagues. The session helped raise awareness, explaining how to understand the different types and signs, and how best we can offer support to others so we can become menopause inclusive for women in the workplace. I’m proud that within the organisation we’re hosting open sessions such as this, on mental health, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community, and navigating the world of fertility, to help make our charity an even more inclusive and supportive place to work. Providing a forum for talking about this issue in an open and honest way resulted in more women sharing their experiences – good and bad – and with a few laughs. It's good to know when others are experiencing the same things as you. A big thank you to the Age Positive Network and Over The Bloody Moon for running today's session.
