HP Social Impact / TIME Team of the Year (2023)

In a new study from @HP and @Oxford Economics, three-quarters of business and government leaders said they believe technology is key to expanding economic opportunity. Yes, tech can be a great equalizer and a powerful tool to drive progress - but to truly narrow the digital divide, we must also equip individuals with the critical #skills needed to meaningfully use tech solutions. It's why today (a.k.a. "Sustainable Impact Report Launch Day"), I'm proud to share that since 2021, HP has accelerated digital equity for more than 45 million people - nearly a third of the way to our 2030 goal of reaching 150 million. While there is still more to do, closing the digital divide remains an opportunity for all of us to make a difference - and I'm proud to be a part of it alongside my incredible social impact team members, colleagues, and partners. Michele Malejki great observations! You and the HP sustainability team are making important things happen in this space. 👏

And yet another factor to consider alongside digital equity is digital literacy. These twin concepts should be considered hand-in-hand, as organizations need to support efforts that make digital tools broadly available (digital equity) and that the content shared via those tools can be easily understood (digital literacy).
