I've been monitoring the transition from Universal Analytics to GA4. Recently, I compared data between the two analytics platforms for one of my clients, and it raised some interesting questions. In the first few days of July, we received our first full clips of data from Google Analytics for the client. While GA4 seemed to be working well, I had to determine its relevancy and whether it was tracking the right things. To do that, I needed a baseline to compare with, and luckily, Universal Analytics was still processing data. When I did my analysis, I found that traffic sources, user activity, and revenue were relatively consistent. Still, I'm curious to hear from all of you. Have any of you experienced similar situations during the transition to GA4? What are your thoughts on the seemingly extended Universal Analytics?
