UNDERSTANDING AI BY FUNCTIONS AND CAPABILITIES The different types of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be categorized based on their capabilities, functionalities, and the extent to which they can mimic or surpass human intelligence. By Function: 1. Reactive Machines: AI systems that respond to the same stimuli in consistent ways without past experiences. 2. Limited Memory: AI that can use historical data to make present decisions. 3. Theory of Mind: Theoretical AI that would understand emotions and mental states. 4. Self-Aware AI: Hypothetical AI with consciousness and self-awareness. By Capability: 1. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI): AI designed for specific tasks, unable to learn beyond its programming. 2. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): Theoretical AI with learning and understanding capabilities similar to a human. 3. Artificial Superintelligence (ASI): Hypothetical AI that surpasses human intelligence in all aspects. GenAI, or generative AI, refers to a type of AI technology that focuses on generating new content, whether it be text, images, music, or other forms of media. Here's how it fits into the broader AI landscape: 1. By Function: GenAI would be considered a subset of Limited Memory AI, as it uses historical data (training datasets) to generate new content. 2. By Capability: GenAI falls under the category of Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI), as it is designed to perform specific generative tasks and does not possess general intelligence or consciousness. Generative AI can create content that is often indistinguishable from that created by humans, but they do not have the ability to understand or interpret the content in the way a human would. >> MY FULL ARTICLE ON THE TOPIC IS IN THE LINK BELOW.👇 — #AI #GenAI #Innovation #technology
