#Flange connection is a common high- pressure pipeline connection method, which is suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature, large -diameter seamless steel tube connection. Beveling is an angle forming between the edge of the end of pipe or fittings. When the end is formed with a certain degree of an angle, it is called a bevel end or beveled end. Beveling is an essential step in the welding preparation process of pipe joining. The quality of the beveled pipe or fittings directly affects the quality of the welding, so proper pipe preparation ensures the best possible weld joint. For plant piping, we use slip-ons unless the flange is being welded directly to a fitting (elbow, tee, etc).  Much less expensive, and can tolerate more misalignment. slip-ons flanges are cheaper than welding neck flanges and both can be used for utility piping as per SAES-L-105
