A truly thoughtful challenge to #POTUS from The.ink Digital. Consider the stakes.

I want to challenge #POTUS to reconsider his position about "staying the course." Thanks to Alan Jones for this inspiration! #POTUS's leadership has been transformative, guiding America through unprecedented challenges with wisdom and compassion. His accomplishments are numerous and significant. Yet, as we approach a critical juncture in our nation's history, it's becoming clear that a new chapter must begin. The time has come to make a decision that will secure his legacy as one of America's most selfless and visionary leaders.  By stepping aside and initiating an innovative process to select his successor, Biden can reinvigorate the Democratic Party, captivate the nation's imagination, and keep Donald Trump’s corrupt and incompetent hands off of America’s future. It is not too late to embrace a nominating process that would showcase the Democratic Party's deep bench of talent.  Given time is of the essence, adopt a pragmatic way to select a small number of exceptional candidates – neither pre-ordaining the outcome nor facing the challenge of winnowing down from a sprawling field.  Candidates commit to strictly- positive campaigns, advancing their visions and accomplishments.  Impress the nation by not just trotting out a tired, predictable process, as we move toward the Convention.  Rivet the nation’s attention on dynamic town hall forums moderated by cultural icons, not same-old journalists.  Structure a nominating process that elicits voter engagement and substantive discussion, perhaps even adopting innovative voting mechanisms.  Build to a convention defined by suspense, energy, and inspiration.  Engage and motivate voters, including the millions of disengaged and disaffected. By embracing this unconventional approach, we can turn a potential crisis into a triumph of democracy. President Biden, like George Washington in 1800, has the opportunity to demonstrate the ultimate act of patriotism – prioritizing the nation's future over personal ambition.  In the words of George Washington himself:  “I had rather be on my farm than be emperor of the world; and yet they charge me with wanting to be a king."  Let no one accuse Joe Biden of wanting to be a benevolent king, in an election that could easily return a malevolent king to the White House, unchecked by a complicit Supreme Court. Make no mistake.  Absent decisive near-term action, the Democratic Party is losing the nation’s confidence, will suffer in the November election, and be complicit in hastening the collapse of America’s democracy.  In these most challenging times, America needs fresh leadership and renewed energy. President Biden can secure his place in history by courageously passing the baton, initiating a process that will uplift our nation and safeguard our democratic ideals for generations to come.
