New geophysical solutions can’t just be better…….they must be cheaper. Talaria was set up to directly address technical solutions required by clients which could not only offer improved technical solutions but do so at a much lower cost-base than anything before. This to enable a much broader application across a number of industries especially in engineering and new energies. The tools didn't exist, so Talaria have built a development portfolio to start to change this. • Semi-autonomous seabed node - seismic and more from any vessel. • 3rd order derivative seismic wave field sensor - something beyond 6C. • 6C ferro-fluid capacitance based passive seismic sensor - 0.1-15Hz. • Land node for passive seismic and electrical surveying in real-time. • Full column PAM with pressure and particle velocity and real-time alerts. • Lorentz Force high energy shear source - forget solenoids. • 3DHPR streamer - holographic imaging brings <1m bins with 100m swaths. ....and married with new integrated processing and inversion systems with ML driven inference for real-time analytics. Superlatives are overused in our business so I don't use them. For me, eye tracking for interaction is not unlike the scroll wheel on your mouse.   Let me explain: In 1996, Microsoft released the IntelliMouse, with a scroll wheel as a distinct feature. What did it offer? Simply a more convenient way of scrolling on a page. It's *only* purpose at that time was to save you the hassle of : 1. bringing the mouse to the scroll bar on the side 2. press the button and scroll down 3. release the button.   Not much, right? And yet, can you imagine using your computer without it today?   Eye tracking allows knowing where your attention is on the screen. Reading a webpage? It will automatically scroll as you reach the bottom. Using a big screen? We can bring the UI where you are currently working. A small screen? Let’s resize the UI to give you a better visibility on the part you’re working on!   In those examples, eye tracking certainly does not revolutionize the user experience… but it makes it easier and more seamless. And just like the scroll wheel, it may well be part of our everyday lives in the near future.

Excited to dive into geostatistical simulation and its role in subsurface modeling! Geostatistics, including methods like Sequential Gaussian Simulation (SGS), allows us to go beyond traditional kriging by generating multiple realizations of subsurface conditions. Variogram Analysis: We start by analyzing spatial variability through variogram models, capturing the correlation structure in our data. Parameter Estimation: Estimating variogram parameters is crucial, influencing the scale and range of spatial correlation. Getting these right is key to realistic simulations. Conditional Simulation: With variogram parameters set, we perform conditional simulation, generating multiple realizations while honoring known data. This step integrates uncertainty into our subsurface models. Post-Simulation Analysis: After simulation, we dive into statistical analysis and visualization to understand the ensemble of realizations. Selecting the Most Likely Realization: Determining the most likely realization involves evaluating how well each simulation aligns with both conditioning data and the overall spatial structure described by the variogram. Iterations for Improvement: The process may involve iterations, adjusting variogram parameters or conditioning data selection to enhance the realism of simulated models. Kriging vs. Simulation: Choosing the Right Tool: -Kriging: Efficiently provides a single best estimate at each location with associated uncertainty. Ideal for precise point estimates and mapping spatial trends. -Simulation (e.g., SGS): Unleashes the power of multiple realizations, capturing spatial uncertainty and variability. Engineers working on major infrastructure projects, such as mines, storage facilities, pipelines, and transportation systems, have access to a wealth of information. These project owners and managers regularly monitor hundreds or even thousands of data points in order to identify any potential ground instabilities or geohazards. However, identifying emerging risks in large datasets can be difficult. Without proper tools or advanced data analysis techniques, potential risks may go unnoticed. In the case of remote sensing data, such as InSAR, product deliveries can contain hundreds of thousands or even millions of data points. Each of these data points has its own unique information to contribute. However, manually sifting through such a large amount of data to identify geohazards is a time-consuming and imprecise task. In order to address this issue, 3vG has created two geospatial instruments that efficiently guide the user's focus towards regions experiencing displacement - Acceleration Detection Polygons and Displacement Detection Polygons. These tools work in conjunction to assist engineers and project owners in promptly recognizing significant measurements. Innovation in a conservative industry - yes better can be cheaper. Battery power? A bit yes, but generally no. So, there has been a significant response to the post I made last week (https://lnkd.in/d24Z_JWq) Lots of questions and interest which I am very appreciative of and a request for some more information. It is not simple to address these publicly without upsetting some folks especially my patent lawyers, but I think useful to at least try to help explain the nature of the innovation process. One key query was on the power system for the semi-autonomous seabed node. First, this device does not 'swim' around, it travels vertically (true) at high speed thus enabling much improved seabed coupling than even the latest seabed recording systems (also addressing some of the S/N queries). There was also a presumption that it must use a huge battery and/or have very limited endurance on the seabed. No! It does not use a battery to principally power its way to the seabed. These features also help make the system compact (40cm tall) and cheaper to build and use. The reason for pointing these things out is that the presumptions in some of the queries point to a somewhat 'traditional' way of thinking we see in systems development in our industry which ultimately end in not achieving what our clients need. Better data at a significantly lower cost base.
