Public virtue cannot exist in a Nation without private Virtue, and public Virtue is the only Foundation of Republics. - John Adams Virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. - George Washington Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. Benjamin Franklin To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea. - James Madison Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore is the truest friend of the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue. - Samuel Adams I fear that we have become a culture that, at best, tolerates vice and at worst, revels in it. As such, we are increasingly ungovernable. This is sadly true across the entire political spectrum. If we want to see America thrive, we must return to a commitment to virtue.

Conservatives are the true liberals. The Constitution of the United States was created by the epitome of liberal philosophy. it was designed to protect the rights of the smallest of minorities, the individual, by limiting power of government. Conservatives seek to conserve the high moral standard of the Constitution. Those often referred to as liberal are actually the opposite of liberal. They are marxist-fascist-islamist authoritarians... Their primary political party in the USA is the democrat party. CRT-DEI = RACISM, MARXISM, INTOLERANCE.
President Kennedy defined “liberalism” in 1960. It is the complete opposite of what is called liberalism today.

Please listen to this. I like this perspective a lot. The question is phrased in a narrow way, and implies a certain bias. The response, however, is much more broad and also optimistic. It is applicable to all of America, no matter what the present views of American individuals and subsets may be. I welcome your thoughts. https://lnkd.in/g67qfjhE

While Abraham Lincoln's role in ending slavery is undeniable, the question of his nobility persists in the shadows of ambiguous motivations. Economic considerations, strategic political maneuvering, and a lack of clarity regarding his personal beliefs cast a veil of uncertainty over the purity of his intentions. As we acknowledge Lincoln's instrumental contribution to the abolition of slavery, a nuanced and critical examination of the complexities surrounding his motivations allows for a more comprehensive understanding of his legacy. Lincoln's actions may have been noble, pragmatic, or a combination of both, leaving room for continued inquiry into the intricate motivations of one of America's most celebrated presidents. #american 's most celebrated presidents.

when you subscribe to white supremacist settler colonial ideology and believe that genocide is justified there is really only so much to work with authoritarianism, fascism, supremacy ideology none of it is deep or complex in thinking or values that’s why we hear the same talking points and see the same tactics from white supremacists and zionists because the venn diagram is a circle dehumanizing rhetoric whitewashed revisionist history cultural appropriation denial of systemic racism systematically defunding and dismantling systems of education destroying healthcare centers murdering those willing to speak truth to power the playbook and talking points never change not seeing the pattern is a choice too many of us actively choose to feign obliviousness so later we can weaponize “not knowing” as a shield for accountability image description: a tweet from Toi Smith that says “divest your body from whiteness. divest your thoughts from whiteness. divest your money from whiteness. divest your energy from whiteness. divest your love from whiteness. divest your praise from whiteness. divest your attachment from whiteness. and investigate who you are beyond your association to whiteness. because whiteness is a myth and if you never look beyond it you'll forever be caught up in the myth and never see clearly.”

"Honor is not the exclusive property of any political party." - Herbert Hoover The assertion that "Honor is not the exclusive property of any political party" echoes a call for transcendence beyond political affiliations and preconceived notions. The concept of honor, a universal ethical principle, knows no boundaries or labels. It reminds us that integrity, dignity, and principled conduct are virtues that should transcend the divisions of partisan politics. This statement invites us to rise above the rhetoric and biases that often accompany political discourse and recognize that the essence of honor is a shared value that ought to be upheld by individuals regardless of their affiliations. By acknowledging that honor is not confined by party lines, we open the door to constructive dialogue and collaboration, emphasizing our common humanity over ideological differences. #BeyondPartyLines #UniversalVirtue #SharedEthics #HonorTranscendsPolitics #PrincipledLeadership #EthicalValues #UnityInHonor #IntegrityMatters #PartisanHonor #BipartisanEthics

America has faced daunting challenges throughout its history. One of the most consequential and least appreciated may have been the dysfunction-by-design of the original Articles of Confederation. Famously, upon exiting the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked what sort of government the delegates had created. He responded, "A republic, if you can keep it." After yesterday's events, Franklin's response resonates. The Quartet: Orchestrating the Second American Revolution, 1783-1789 by Pulitzer-prize winner Joseph Ellis skillfully captures the uncertainty of history as it unfolds. This "quartet"--Washington, Madison, Hamilton, and Jay--showed real leadership, something we could use a LOT more of today. #americanhistory #government #perspective
