As a Christian engaging with people with different political views in an election season, here are some principles that guide me: - Government is God's gift, designed for our benefit (Romans 13:4). - Those who disagree are not my enemy. My enemy is not flesh & blood (Ephesians 6:12). - Every person is created in God's image (Gen 1:27) & every person has dignity, worth & value. - I should love & pray for those I disagree with (Matt 5:43-48). - My love & respect should not just be empty words, but should be demonstrated in tangible ways (James 2:17). - I should not be the cause of division, but rather should endeavor to be active at living in peace with everyone (Romans 12:17-18).

T-U-L-I-P states that the problem of the salvation of mankind and the necessity of that salvation is defined by five essential factors: T – Total Depravity; U – Unconditional Election; L – Limited Atonement; I – Irresistible Grace; P – Perseverance of Saints (not assurance of salvation which is a common perversion of the idea of T-U-L-I-P). We will show that some of these definitions are in direct contradiction with the Bible or otherwise misleading: therefore, the T-U-L-I-P statement is incorrect and will be stricken from our future conversation.

Reflect on this great advice?
“That’s the difference with our Christian faith. It’s not about us seeking God. It’s about him seeking you.” Words we need to hear from Sr. Meredith, OCD, who spoke at our annual conference, “The Little Way,” last April. #YoungCatholicProfessionals #WorkingInWitnessForChrist

In which situations are you comfortable sharing your faith? Which conditions are uncomfortable for you, causing you to be less likely to be a verbal witness for Christ? As an introvert, I understand the tension between desiring to be a faithful witness and navigating when and how to do that. We are not all the same in personality or giftedness, but we share Christ's Great Commission to make disciples. How do you fulfill that mandate? Do you let fears keep you from it? Here's the May 24 devotional from my "Next Step Devotions" book, based on Acts 14:1-7. https://lnkd.in/eSGVydsZ
