🆕 In our commitment to continued #innovation and growth, we have achieved a breakthrough for the company. #Matteco, together with leading Spanish manufacturer ARIEMA Energía y Medioambiente, has received EU Next Generation funding to deploy next generation technology in more efficient electrolyzers for #greenhydrogen. The EMMA project has been awarded with a grant of €1.1 million by the Spanish government through its strategic recovery plan, PERTE, mobilizing a total of €1.4 million. 📢 Our Innovation team joined the IndTech 2024 Conference on Industrial Technologies organised by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024 in Namur last week! Our colleagues contributed to important discussions about the future of advanced materials and circular economy. Our Innovation Project Manager, Francesca Cavezza, participated in a panel discussion titled "A New Generation of Advanced Materials Fit for the Circular Economy," bringing valuable insights into how to enhance the circularity of advanced materials, such as #aluminium, for industrial leadership. To boost further the circularity of the aluminium value chain, Francesca focused on the recently completed SALEMA EU project as an inspirational case study. 💡Our Director Innovation, Christian Leroy, joined another panel session co-organised by A.SPIRE and EU Science, Research and Innovation, addressing the crucial role of electrification and the integration of renewables and alternative sustainable energy in the #decarbonisation of the process industries. Christian emphasised the two on-going EU projects, H2GLASS and HyInHeat, focussing on the use of hydrogen as a fuel to decarbonise our heating and melting processes. Turning carbon into cash. Easier said than done. Edward Chan and the team at Metasorbex(TM) Corporation, an mHUB accelerator portfolio company, are capturing carbon at industrial point source and turning it into feedstock such as methanol or ethanol. Metasorbex is a materials platform based on graphene for carbon capture utilization in a cost-effective manner. It’s a real move away from carbon capture and sequestration (#CCS) to carbon capture and utilization (#CCU), from pure cost to revenue generating (without taking into account tax credits).
