During our last Sharing Lunch, Kathrin Pinter - Project Leader, and Camila Araújo - Senior Consultant in the MIC-HUB Mobility Planning Team, presented the Greater Muscat Structure Plan (GMSP). The interdisciplinary project - where MIC-HUB led the mobility strategies - is a strategic instrument to transform Muscat, the capital city of Oman. The plan evolved from the national and regional spatial strategies to focus on how Oman's largest city can address some of its key challenges and create a more sustainable and liveable future. The GMSP is now underway, with a time horizon between 2022 and 2040. Many thanks to Kathrin and Camila for their insightful presentation!

I was very happy to receive the Capitallink 2023 Maritime Sustainability Award notice back in Jan-23 and look forward to receiving it in Athens 03rd October. Lots has happened since we publicised our whitepaper in Sept-20 pushing hard for a global IMO led carbon pricing penalty. We still miss the decision on a carbon levy which will be the ultimate demand driver behind the production and subsequent use of low and zero emission shipping fuels. While last IMO meeting was good (global fuel standards, revised 2030-40-50 targets, etc) then the big job now lies on agreeing a significant global carbon pricing mechanism so we can get penalised when we pollute. The shipping industry has some big steps to take as we are at real risk losing out to other hard to abate industries. There is nothing wrong in losing if it is overall good for the environment but fact is both the shipping industry as well as other hydrogen hungry hard to abate industries can all win. The question is only who will be supplying hydrogen to industrial Europe and who will supply it to the global shipping industry... this is also what we elaborated in our recent whitepaper publicised in May-23 'the opportunity for the Global South...' #Trafigura #Connectingvitalresources #IMO #Capitallink #hydrogen #ammonia #methanol #energytransition #shippingdecarbonisation #seacargocharter #gmf #firstmoverscoalition #globalcarbonlevy

Knowledge is deeply embedded in people. It is called Tacit Knowledge. As the days go by and accumulate a long period of experience, the knowledge becomes more crystallized and concentrated. If the knowledge is still urgently needed by the organization and the knowledge is at risk of being lost from the organization. One of the knowledge management guidelines is to continue to exist for the benefit of the organization is knowledge capture and do that knowledge into an accessible form. It is called Explicit knowledge. Today, I am doing a knowledge capture project with the Senior Management of Airports of Thailand (AOT) at the Phuket International Airport (HKT) #km #knowledgemanagement #decoding #knowledgecapture #consultant #producer #elearning #DigitalTAN

This crucial development comes as the airport's construction is ready to commence, marking a significant step in improving accessibility to the region. The VVIP airport's construction is anticipated to expedite the entry of investors into IKN, providing direct access to the region. With the groundwork about to begin, there's a promising outlook for economic growth and development in the area. Apart from the groundbreaking event, President Jokowi will personally oversee the progress of IKN's development, which has already surpassed 30%. This reflects the government's commitment to accelerating key infrastructure projects, such as the Balikpapan-Nusantara toll road and the VVIP airport, in the region. Furthermore, IKN Authority (OIKN) is extending investment opportunities in IKN to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia's role as a strategic investment partner is vital for the development of IKN, and the sectors open to potential Saudi investors encompass renewable energy, housing, connectivity infrastructure, ecotourism, and agriculture. The recent Saudi-Indonesian Roundtable Meeting held in Riyadh resulted in significant interest from Saudi investors, particularly in the renewable energy sector. These initiatives align with the vision to develop Nusantara Capital City into a net-zero city by 2045, fostering sustainable and eco-friendly development in the region. #InfrastructureDevelopment #InvestmentOpportunities #NusantaraCapitalCity #SaudiInvestment #IKNDevelopment
