I absolutely love and look forward to having coffee with each new marketing team member. I was fortunate to have coffee meetings this past week with two fantastic new teammates. My agenda is very loose for these meetings, but includes: • Getting the chance to know each other • Learning more about their experiences and perspective on their new role • Teeing up some of the ways that I think they can bring impact and evolution to their space • Hearing about their career aspirations and goals • Opening the door for future conversations I ALWAYS leave these meetings invigorated and excited. If this isn’t something you are doing, I highly recommend it. 5 stars.
Maria Hokanson, you are always so thoughtful. Thank you for sharing your agenda! Mine is loosely the same - I also talk about other brands that have inspired their work…DQ comes up often! 🍦Especially in product innovation. 😋 Hearing fresh perspective on time in role never ceases to offer up new possibilities. Thank you for choosing Caribou for your coffee talks! 💙
"Coffee is always a good idea."
They are lucky to have such a proactive and interested leader! This is a great idea. 👏
It’s gotta be Caribou!
I loved our coffee chat, Maria! It was great getting to know you, talking about my journey to DQ and brainstorming about the future. So happy to be part of your team!
Maria, this is fantastic and great way to welcome them to the team. As someone that recently moved teams, this approach is appreciated!
Absolutely love this, Maria Hokanson! It is such a critical thing to do for new talent on the team! Great leadership!
Very thoughtful insights! Thanks for sharing Maria 👍

1wI do the same with new team members but I take them for a cranium-sized burger at Casino El Camino, a goth tiki bar on Sixth Street in Austin. Maybe I should switch to coffee...
