Today at the Johnson County, KS Government Board of County Commissioners meeting I was able to provide information about Remarkably Resilient Together and two actions we could all commit to work toward. 1. Being Kind - Kindness requires a higher state of mental capacity, we all must choose to be kind. 2. Emotion Regulation - In a world where we encounter things beyond our control it is important that we control the one thing we can control and that’s “ourselves” and “our emotions”. We must be intentional about how we choose to respond to situations. Through these two actions we can become more resilient individually and resilient together as a community. https://lnkd.in/ghUD2-vG

As we approach our April 6 ritual initiation of Open Field Awakening, it's an honor to find these prayerful intentions bringing us further into right relationship already! Remember, what you are working is also working you. 😘 https://lnkd.in/g-TYpjaq
Just had a wonderful conversation this morning with Tamara Strohauer MSW, LCSW and Dennis OConnor in the spirit of building greater integrity in the web of regional relations with concern for transformations of the metacrisis. Some potentially fruitful connections came to mind. Thoughts of Greg Buttner Ph.D LMFT came up with synergies between his and Tamara's relations with our local Native Turtle Islanders kin and working with trauma and addiction in particular. Eric Hekler also came to mind as a colleague building local community networks of resilience and wellbeing, with a particular focus on the field of health. Onward prayerfully through this awesome mystery… 🙏

#JusticeIs transformative! When we address the root causes of systemic oppression, trauma and disparities, we can transform youth justice from punishment to promise. #JusticeIs supporting youth reentering communities from facilities, and ensuring they have adequate access to housing, education, employment, mental health, physical health, child care, and related supports. What does a vision of transformative justice look like to you? #CodeSwitchLV #YJAM2023 ✊🏿

Came to Believe Recovery is proud to announce our commitment to The Kennedy Forum Patrick J. Kennedy Alignment for Progress Movement to transform the United States’ mental health and substance use care systems. To achieve their bold vision of parity in resources, access, quality, and outcomes and ensure: 90% of individuals are screened for mental health and substance use disorders. 90% receive the evidence-based services and supports they need, and 90% of those treated can manage their symptoms and achieve recovery. Over the next five years, we have committed to providing 4 fully sponsored 12 step weekend retreats to missions and shelters across the U.S. in order to provide access to a fast and effective recovery program to a population that is typically underserved.
