Emergencies can happen any time. Research has shown that when carers have prepared for an emergency, they are able to respond more effectively and are less at risk. It’s always best to prepare ahead. The Carer Gateway has great resources to help you. Did you know Carer Gateway has an emergency care plan form that you can fill out? It's a great way to help family members and carers to summarise key information, contacts and what to do in an emergency so your loved one is cared for. The document is free and can be downloaded from the Carer Gateway website here: https://lnkd.in/gWpMHYiZ #CarerGateway #Carers #CarerSupport #emergencycareplan

Q: Does the ADA require my city to develop an emergency preparedness program? A: No, but the ADA requires state and local governments to ensure program access. Where a state or local government develops an emergency preparedness program, the ADA says the plan needs to include people with disabilities. Do Leaders and Citizens, outside emergency services, really considered the downside of putting a price tag on Emergency Services Staffing and Equipment. Politicians and Local Leaders need to remember that Emergency services, including fire departments, emergency medical services (EMS), and police, form the backbone of public safety. However, recent trends towards cost-cutting and budget constraints have led to a growing concern: the practice of putting a price tag on emergency services staffing and equipment. While fiscal responsibility is important, this approach has several significant downsides that could compromise public safety and the effectiveness of these critical services.

Carbyne proudly introduces the launch of Citizen Connect, a data and alerting system designed to elevate emergency response. This solution equips emergency communications centers with vital caller-designated medical information and simultaneously alerts designated emergency contacts when 9-1-1 is dialed, empowering telecommunicators to make informed decisions swiftly. With medical details displayed directly on-screen, responders can act faster, potentially saving lives. It's seamlessly integrated into our APEX and Universe platforms, ensuring a unified experience for dispatchers and better collaboration between PSAPs and their community. “The ability of Carbyne’s Citizen Connect to provide emergency contacts with notifications is truly reassuring for parents. It puts their minds at ease, knowing they can reach their children quickly during emergencies,” said Jeff Hannon, 911 Dispatch Supervisor at the @guernsey county sheriff's office Guernsey County [Ohio] Sheriff’s Office. “Additionally, this technology is a significant advancement for our disabled community members. It ensures they receive immediate confirmation when they call for help, which is crucial for their safety and peace of mind.” Want to learn more? As the weather warms up, snakes become active. Snakes can be common on worksites and are often difficult to spot. 💡 If you see a snake, leave it alone and contact your local snake catcher. Ensure workers know what to do if they are bitten, and remote workers have a way to call for help. Make sure your first aid kit has a compression bandage. https://ow.ly/e5RO50Q4vtU #SnakeSafety #Snakes #FirstAid #WorkplaceHealthandSafety #WorkerWednesday
