Great article about making the decision to buy in NYC, but there's one major oversight. Why are educated, smart, and connected people allowing Zillow to "match" them with a buyer's agent for one of the most significant purchases of their lives? It’s mind-boggling to me both personally and professionally. Please take the time to find someone to work with. Don’t let Zillow or StreetEasy blindly pull from their database of agents who pay to be matched with you just because you clicked their bait.

I get this question a lot. This tool, while not perfect, is worth playing with. And of course, having an honest look at your finances, thinking through your future plans, and talking with a trusted real estate agent helps too!

Reflecting on My First Year as a Real Estate Agent 🏡 As I celebrate this one-year milestone, I find myself amidst my busiest and most successful month yet. From helping a buyer close on a spectacular house this week, to actively managing listings for sellers in both the Upper East Side and Prospect Heights, it's been an exhilarating journey, and one not without some hard lessons along the way... - Starting anew has proven to be both challenging and enlightening. It's been a humbling experience, reminding me of the importance of learning from mistakes and bouncing back from setbacks. - I underestimated the sheer energy required to maintain a positive mindset, stay motivated, and remain focused every single day. Understanding how my mood impacts not only myself but also my family has been eye-opening. - Transitioning from a career where I often supported others to confidently placing myself at the forefront has been a mental exercise, but incredibly rewarding. I'm immensely grateful for the unwavering support of my close friends and family, and I am continuously moved by the encouraging cheers from acquaintances and colleagues. Your support not only lifts me up but also reinforces the value I bring to others. Thank you all!

This article resonated with me. I remember when I bought my first apartment, encouraged by my accountant. I was single, early 30s, and it felt like I was giving up on love in some way. Society sends a message that singletons should wait around before becoming a homeowner! As fate would have it, my husband and I started dating soon after, and that purchase became the foundation for our financial future, and journey to eventually buying our house. In sharing this, I hope to inspire others to do the same. #livewhoyouare

I'm "gifting" this article today, and sharing a link to a presentation on a topic many of you hopefully have not had to delve into yet, but you should. Add this to the list of issues we deal with as we age that society keeps quiet about until you are too deep in it (such as menopause, age discrimination, caring for aging parents) This is not meant to be a downer! More of an opportunity to educate yourself as you look forward so you don't have to struggle once you are there. Enjoy your family and loved ones this weekend!! When I transitioned to real estate, I didn't realize the role creative and strategy would continue to play in my new life as an agent in NYC. But those skills and more are at play daily. And like all industries, there is unnecessary drama and mystery associated with the actual work of home buying and selling. I hope to keep sharing advice from the inside to make the process easier and more enjoyable for you! So here's a straight forward read on creative financing in the current market.

If you know me, you know my passion for Brooklyn - being a 3rd generation kid from Brooklyn, raising my children here in the public school system, living a blessed brownstone life. I am totally stumped trying to figure out the one memory/image to submit to this wonderful new project at the library! What is your Brooklyn??
