Reflecting on My First Year as a Real Estate Agent 🏡 As I celebrate this one-year milestone, I find myself amidst my busiest and most successful month yet. From helping a buyer close on a spectacular house this week, to actively managing listings for sellers in both the Upper East Side and Prospect Heights, it's been an exhilarating journey, and one not without some hard lessons along the way... - Starting anew has proven to be both challenging and enlightening. It's been a humbling experience, reminding me of the importance of learning from mistakes and bouncing back from setbacks. - I underestimated the sheer energy required to maintain a positive mindset, stay motivated, and remain focused every single day. Understanding how my mood impacts not only myself but also my family has been eye-opening. - Transitioning from a career where I often supported others to confidently placing myself at the forefront has been a mental exercise, but incredibly rewarding. I'm immensely grateful for the unwavering support of my close friends and family, and I am continuously moved by the encouraging cheers from acquaintances and colleagues. Your support not only lifts me up but also reinforces the value I bring to others. Thank you all!

This article resonated with me. I remember when I bought my first apartment, encouraged by my accountant. I was single, early 30s, and it felt like I was giving up on love in some way. Society sends a message that singletons should wait around before becoming a homeowner! As fate would have it, my husband and I started dating soon after, and that purchase became the foundation for our financial future, and journey to eventually buying our house. When I transitioned to real estate, I didn't realize the role creative and strategy would continue to play in my new life as an agent in NYC. But those skills and more are at play daily. And like all industries, there is unnecessary drama and mystery associated with the actual work of home buying and selling.
