Tomorrow, our Head of Environment, Safety & Health Francesco Marella, will be one of the speakers at the debate about sustainability to be held as part of the ESG Balance Sheet event. The meeting, organised by Tecnologie d'Impresa srl d'Impresa at Tessitura in Figino Serenza, Como, will open with a speech by Sebastiano Barisoni, journalist and Deputy Editor of Sole 24 ORE and Radio 24. Sustainability has always been a key pillar for us at MEHITS, and our participation in theevents of this scale, demonstrates our ongoing commitment to spreading good sustainability practices and contributing to the creation of a shared sustainable culture.

We hosted the 26th Sustainable Business Roundtable (SBRT) at ESMT Berlin yesterday. Established in 2011, the SBRT serves as a peer-to-peer learning network for leading global companies actively involved in the sustainability transformation. 🌐✨ Here are the key insights from the discussions: 🌍 Global Challenges: Businesses must collectively address climate change, unsustainable consumption, and rising inequality, recognizing the human crisis is intertwined with the climate crisis. 🤝 Equality in Demand: 84% of consumers advocate for equal wages, reflecting a societal push toward fair compensation. 🎯 Strategic Sustainability Focus: Organizations aspiring to an inspirational social sustainability strategy should focus on societal, employer, and community responsibilities for a fair and equal society. 🔄 Holistic Business Impact: Ambitions need alignment with robust systems for human rights, responsible taxation, and material issues specific to each industry. Working on the application of #Circulareconomy pilot actions in #ports of #Albania and #Montenegro with MedWaves UNEP/MAP-Barcelona Convention
MedWaves places a high priority on promoting a #Sustainable #BlueEconomy, with a strong emphasis on integrating circular economic principles into the various sectors of the Blue Economy across multiple initiatives and projects. For instance, we support the integration of SBE topics and initiatives within the UNEP/MAP-Barcelona Convention programmes of work. Is within this framework that last week our colleague Octavi Domingo Fernandez visited Bar (Montenegro) and Vlorë (Albania). Site visits were conducted at both ports, and meetings were organized by MedWaves with the port managers to identify the pilot actions that will be implemented.
