It’s true that the diamond industry has seen a significant evolution with the emergence of LGD. There’s a valid point in acknowledging that both natural and lab-grown diamonds can coexist in the market, catering to different consumer preferences. The competition between these sectors is indeed part of a healthy market dynamic. However, as technology advances and consumer awareness grows, the conversation around these diamonds continues to evolve, often accompanied by differing opinions and professional approaches. Embracing flexibility and open-mindedness indeed serves the industry well in navigating this ongoing change. The history of LGD, as you know, has gone from being the subject of jokes to now sparking significant debate and interest in the gem industry.
Deliberately spreading false or misleading information to devalue a competitor’s product is not a genuine sales practice. It’s crucial for any industry, including the diamond market, to prioritize transparency, integrity, and accurate information dissemination to ensure ethical business conduct and fair competition. Providing factual details about a product’s attributes and advantages is a more professional and ethical approach in sales and marketing strategies.
#labgrowndiamonds VERSUS Natural #diamonds: The FAKE News & the Fight Continues.
Recently, an article from Benzinga made its way on Yahoo Finance. This article (if it can be called one) looked liked a PR distribution piece.
One 'Vague' paragraph in the article read, "The lab-grown diamond industry is growing quickly, in large part because of competitive pricing and an environmentally sustainable production process. But these "jewels" can never be the real thing."
If you read the last line carefully, it says, "These Jewels can NEVER be the real thing." But, the article provides no justification on why these jewels can't be the 'Real Thing' or what's their definition of the 'Real Thing'.
For the unaware consumer, reading something like - NOT A REAL THING can drive them away from #labgrowndiamonds.
A lot of times it just feels like these are hit-pieces written with the intent of devaluing #labgrowndiamonds. But when will the folks doing this realize that while their objective is to devalue Lab Grown Diamonds, these hit-pieces are doing more harm to #diamond as a product than just Lab Grown Diamonds.
It seems like the battle of Natural Versus Lab Grown Diamonds will NEVER end until players from both sides come together and find a way to expand the market than create more CONFUSION for the consumers.
But the BIG Question: Who will take the lead?
Who will bring both sides together?
Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

2moAre Natural diamond rare. Let's talk about the 80% sold to the public. Being a seller of both. They can compete against each other in a healthy way. Is something rare that there is more of. Then the consumer could ever purchase. I am not bashing one or the other. But do retailers tell the consumer. If you ever try to sell your ring. You will only get 30% of what you paid. Again I believe both can survive next to each other. I also believe not one is really better then the other. The consumer decides that. Business survive on giving the customer what they want. Just be honest
